Isegrim 9761
I like a white zinfandel. Or just white. Red wine is minging. Lukewarm pissy muck. 9681 As with footballers and managers you have no bloody clue when it comes to flair. Zinfandel the grafter among wines. Ugh. 9690 What could a German possibly know about good taste? You're all sausages and sauerkraut man. 9705 Still a bit rich, an Englishman taking the piss out of other nation's taste in food. 9706 Indeed - but according to the French President its better than Finnish food................ 10219 Yes, but that is because in Finland every menu tastes steamed, because eating in a sauna isn't doing food any good. So much for xenophobic clichés... Edited August 11, 2005 by Isegrim

Rob W 0
Most Eastern dishes are good because of their spicing (NOT just the heat) Spices get in the way of a decent wine so if you ahve to drink somehting which has a strong but unsubtle flavour - Australian Shiraz for example

The problem with wine and curry is the acid. Especially with real hot curries this can cause in fact real pain. Though, as Rob said there huge differences. Basically I can suggest to any "sweet" curry a Riesling. If the curry is not too hot then a Australian Shiraz can fit really well, even the right sweet dessert wine can be an option. Mr Misery 1
Gewurztraminer (white, hint of lychees) is good for Chinese food. And also lighter Thai food. Edited August 11, 2005 by Mr Misery
