Didn't do anything special on Saturday, don't really know what they're on about.

He's going to the WC sadly. Tbh I just don't see what he could bring from the subs bench, obviously you need some cover but he's not exactly going to bring you anything different is he?

Jenas was primarily the holding midfielder, playing short passes either to Carrick, wide to either flank or back to his defence.......he rarely tried to instigate an attack either with a pass or with the ball at his feet

That's not Jenas being composed as they try to suggest in that article. That's his entire game. I can't believe he's going to the World Cup.

Aye, when summing up in that article they mention he doesn't attack and can't defend very well because he's too light weight. So, what the fuck is he good at? Yep, just the kind of player I want achoring England's midfield at the World Cup. Not.

There can only be very limited scenrios in which he'd possibly get on the pitch. I think he's going because Eriksson thinks he's a future 'mainstay' (or captain even, heaven forfend) and would therefore benefit from the experience of going to the tournament.

Fortunately it wont matter a fuck what Eriksson thinks after this world cup. In my view whoever comes in will almost certainly decide he's a limited, lightweight little coward who's not worth a secong glance.

You can just imagine at training Carrick and Murphy wishing they had the chance to snap the little puffs leg off just to show him how to tackle.

When he played for us and we were strating to struggle he was found out because he couldn't hide from it. He's luck now, in that he plays in a midfield 3 where the other 2 are excellent, Carrick and Davids. Put him in a centre midfield of 2 and he'll struggle, as we saw here. What I'm trying to say is, Spurs system and the players around him are certainly helping him get to the WC, so you have to say that as a career move he made an excellent decision to leave us.

As an aside, I heard a rumour (from a normally reliable source) that Dyer will go to the World Cup if he can prove his fitness before then.

Cue remarks like:

So he won't be going then ;)

If i were England boss and Dyer wasn't completely out injured i'd take him like a shot. Its a big enough squad to risk one player and love him or hate him, he can change games coming off the bench against any defence in the world and would give England that option if Plan A isn't working.
