The Demon Drink

I've only had a drink on half a dozen of occasions since New Year in a bid to lose weight and get fit. I tend to avoid pubs and drive back straight after the match which is a bit boring. Mind, not feeling ill the next day is a huge reward.

Giving up completely for a whole year must be hard. The worst aspect I find is that when you do go out people tend to pressurise you into drinking when you just want to stay on the J2O. It doesn't seem to socially acceptable not to drink in Newcastle.

I stayed off the drink on Sunday night for a change when I went to the pub... I drank that much fucking pepsi that I was wide awake all night and felt rough as hell Monday morning.. I normally drink about 8 doubles, get a good night's sleep and feel fine.. that's the last time I try and stay off alcohol. :D

What i don't get is the fact hes not drinking alcohol to try and lose weight yet when out has turned to bottles of J20 which to my knowledge, whilst tasting nice, just full of sugar. Would be better off on the spirits tbh

I'll only sip one or two bottles of J20 in a night though - slightly less calories than 6 pints of stella I should think. Also has the added benefit of giving my liver a break and avoiding hangovers.

Easily. :D;) I can drink a fair amount with no hangover as long as I stick to vodka & lemonade.

Works out nicely.. 4 rounds each for my boyfriend and I with a few quid left over from a £20 for some games on the quiz machine.

If "sipping J2O" isn't a euphemism, it should be tbh.

119276

So what do you do then since you admit you've gone off alcohol?

Quaff huge quantities of chocolate milkshake?

I think one of the problems with giving up drink is taking it up again. It'll be like being 14 again when you'd be pissed after 3 sips of Carling..

119283

Normally happens when you lay off it for a week tbh. :D

Is it possible to get pissed on Carling?

I remember at Uni they had this piss water called Trent beer or something - about 3% abv. I drank 20 cans once and didn't feel remotely tipsy, although I had to piss a lot, obviously.

Trying to regain some butchness tbh. Nice effort. Still need to man-up though :D

At our Students Union it was £1 a pint for Skol. You literally couldn't get pissed on it. Like you say though, you couldn't stop pissing.

20 Kaliber shandys tbh.

In response to the other thing: I've not said I'm off the drink, I said I could! I wouldn't be drinking J2O though. I'm a diet coke man when I'm not quaffing the Pimms.
