It fell or unseated its jockey but carried on as a riderless horse. Injured itself further round the course and after a vet examined it, it had to be put down.

Used to be against it and not a fan of the National but I reckon the horses actually have pretty good lives. I remember seeing something about Hedgehunter going on holiday!

Just imagine being the unlucky one who gets sat next to him on the plane.

 

Or being stuck in front of him and he kicks his hooves against the back of your seat for the whole flight.

 

(I had a few quid on Clan Royal and Hedgehunter to win. )

I had £2.50 each way on royal auclair (fell at the first) and clan royal (3rd). So not a total disaster, still down on the day though...
