Kid at work saying he's too young to worry about a house and is only looking at upgrading his motor.

You cannit tell kids that being a homeowner halves the insurance though, they just want to be driving up the coast with Basement Jaxx coming out the open windows of their Micra.

The claim was last year but my no claims are protected so I get that I pay a bit extra for that but it still seems high?

I had two years driving a company car in the middle of that so didn't have to have my own insurance, reckon it's that?

Postcode's also a factor.

Live in a leafy suburb of Manchester. When I lived in a shithole near Pontefract I drove a golf GTI that was remapped and lowered etc. The insurance was about 800. Might ring round and speak to some companies and see if I can figure it out.

Just told the office I'm moving to Manchester at the end of July. Fingers crossed they're open to me working remotely. If not, there'll be another fun "Find the Fish a fucking job thread" ... :unsure2::(

that can't be right i passed about 6yrs ago, have 1 claim and 3years no claims, 33yrs old and my insurance on a 3lt group17 is < £600

comparison sites are generally shite i've found as well

Aye that makes no sense, I'm 27, passed just before I turned 22, no claims throughout but my car is a Group 27 and I paid less than £600 for mine.

Have you got a place sorted or are you looking?

Looking to rent at the moment. Going to be Didsbury/Cheadle/Wythenshawe area, whichever of those is the right combination of cost & niceness.

Plan is to buy next year.

Didsburys alright, couple of friends live there.

I'm partial to the areas further north myself mind you ;)

Her job's Reddish, just north of Stockport, be daft for us to go on t'otherside of Manchester.

don't really know the area, heard good things about Didsbury, but she's basically looking for an Ilkley-esque town.

Good luck, if remote working isn't a possibility then obviously it'll be harder to get a job in Manchester than London but still the easiest place outside the south east.

You've always got your salesman experience to fall back on.... ;)

Having broken the news and left for lunch, Daves colleagues are left to somehow come to terms with his departure.

What did they get you when you gave up being a titan of business for the life of a taxidriver?

"Did you hear Dave's leaving?

"Who's Dave?"

I'm not surprised they'd not recognise the name "Dave", I go by "El Capitán", or "Aizen-Myoo"

The Golden Pouffe.

Martin'll be livid. He only got bronze.
