I love these sample breakdown compilations.

Disappointing not to see J-J-J-JIIIIVE BUNNY feature though.

Will have a proper listen later. Cheers. That ‘Long Dark Tunnel’ sample off the jungle track Valley of the Shadow by Origin Unknown pops up in a few places. It’s from an episode of QED in the 80s about out of body experiences. That particular one is a woman talking about hers and meeting her deceased grandfather. It’s years after the event but she’s adamant it actually happened.
The history of how stuff came to be used is interesting too. The sample of the Loon (North American water bird) got used on loads of tunes. Probably most famously on Pacific State. As it was one of the pre-sets on a popular sampler/synthesiser

I was trying to guess the track from the samples. I was doing alright until about 2009, then I couldn't hear anything over my creaking middle age.

See how you get on with them.

Any chance some technical wiz can allow us to show the posts without the need to click on the link?

I've just been looking into that, by which I mean getting Andrew to look into that. The simple answer is "not yet", but hopefully if Bluesky really does get longer-term traction as the new and less obviously fascist alternative to Xitter, someone will develop the necessary plugin soon enough. Keeping our eyes peeled :good:

Get that on a mug CT. Big Christmas seller, I reckon.

When I did high-rise window cleaning, we’d use Eight as code for a munter with a decent rack- “ Eight at 3oclock!”

Eight because that’s the number of tits on a pig.

Got myself an away shirt with Isak (14) on it as a reminiscence to the Ginola one. I knew it was tempting fate but thought it will rather be him leaving in the summer.

Wore it today playing football and probably tore a muscle. Karma.

Parked up outside of Sittingbourne in Kent.
As I exited the ablutions hole, a lad pulls up in a van with,

“Ask me about our famous Kentish Gypsy Tarts!” lathered all over the side.

So I did.

My mind was naturally thinking- “Wahey, man’s got a load of dusky cockney Salmas in the back, ready to read my palm then drain my sack!”

Nope- they’re a local delicacy, apparently.

The lad could obviously tell I was deflated, and instead of a blowy off Madam Zaza, he gave me a freebie (see above).

The filling is brown sugar and evaporated milk, whisked to fuck, then baked in the case.

Diabetus in a tasty bite.

Hey ho, off to my “social media” to look up Gypsy Tarts, see if I can get the recipe…

Anybody migrated to BlueSky yet? I knocked Twitter on the head before it became an AI riddled, Cryptofascist hellscape but this seems like a deliberate throwback to 2012 Twitter. Hopefully it can keep the knackerjacks away for a while.

Anyway, I’m VirtuaStiva if you want top notch content
