Considered Lumley Castle but their restaurant gets slated.  
 

Countryside rather than city, hopefully have a nice walk at some point, presuming she is still able to.

Langley castle although it has been a long time since we stayed there.

My old coach used to ride track and his Maddison partner was his ex wife and she was always moaning about him being a dick head apparently.

 

He keeps saying he will tell the truth one day about the jiffy bag etc but he wont.  Blokes got mental health issues and its not a surprise with what happened to him as a bairn like.

That's a good shout, or also nearby you have Langley castle. 

Not that I know what any of these places are like because I HAVEN'T HAD A BASTARD ROMANTIC BREAK WITHOUT KIDS FOR THIRTEEN FUCKING YEARS you boastful bastards.

At the risk of causing some sort of cheesy chips meltdown, has anyone stayed at Seaham Hall, as that looks to be a cut above Matfen and Rockliffe?

I've been to the spa there, which was nice.  But not stayed.
