There clearly is for the likes of Morgan but I can't see how Murdoch's channel succeeds. By all accounts it looks much better than GB News but it's going to suffer from the same problem in that people are going to have to actively search it out whereas when Morgan was on ITV it was just a simple choice between them and BBC News for most viewers.

I can’t tell if this is dripping with sarcasm or genuine.

Not so much dripping as at saturation point

Piers Morgan's new show

Someone's played gammon bingo with those opening credits

The likes of those fucking daft enough to buy into Morgan’s latest grift are the biggest snowflakes going. They also want to cancel any version of history etc that distorts their comfortable view of a benevolent Blighty that the rest of the world should be grateful for

Good day to you, sirs.

I knew South Shields was further north than Newcastle city centre as Happy Face used the fact to wind Stevie up :D

I did a quiz round on points like this a few months ago and fried people's noodle with some of them!

The following is true:

  • Leeds is east of Newcastle
  • Dublin is south of Liverpool
  • Edinburgh is west of Manchester
  • Paris is east of Barcelona
  • Rome is north of New York City
  • Amsterdam is south of Birmingham
  • Washington DC is west of Ottawa
  • Beijing is north of Tokyo
  • Hong Kong is south of Dubai
  • Madrid is west of Cardiff

Also if you're in Detroit and you head south, the first country you come across is Canada.

Hartlepool is further north than the southernmost point of mainland Scotland.

I've always used that one as well - that bend in the Tyne at Hebburn has a lot to answer for :)

It was always Carlisle being East of Edinburgh that got me.

I never knew that but had heard it about Cardiff before, which seems impossible

A good fact about Alaska is that it is the most northerly, easterly and westerly state in the USA (the Aleutian Islands cross longitude 180 degrees)

Here’s one for you @Craig

If you could sail in a perfectly straight line, you could set out from New York and arrive in Perth, Western Australia.

You’d arrive in Perth from the south, too.

Ooh! I like that one.

It’s another one that seems impossible but a bit of Norway wraps around the top of Finland. And the distance between degrees of longitude are a lot less at that latitude. It’s still mad though
