Christmas Tree 4729
It's the clouds that matter when trying to view a meteor shower man, not the moon! Ahem! This year the meteor watching should be especially good because the shower peaks between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, coinciding with the new moon. With no moon in the sky, even the dimmest meteors will be visible if you can get yourself far away from man-made light pollution. "Moonlight is the bane of meteor watchers because bright moonlight washes out faint meteors," said Alan MacRobert, senior editor at Sky and Telescope. "It is nature's own light pollution." The last time the Perseids peaked at the same time as the new moon was in 2007.

Clouds do matter, as does having eyes, however you now hopefully understand the moons role in all of this.

The role of 'possibly providing little bit more light than the streetlights are already providing' As a self-confessed space/meteorology geek, who has been unable to see the meteor shower for the last 2 nights due to the CLOUD, I'm suitably admonished. Christmas Tree 4729
Just had a horrific spider experience. Photo doesn't do it justice but this boy was big and bad ass. 22 year old daughter virtually hysterical and me making several advances and retreats before finally managing to cage it. Horrible
