The Fish 10876
Seems strange not showing the who live. It's a bigger issue for the Beeb if they broadcast those old codgers shouting "all day Nigger"

ewerk 30684
As dull as it is, at least they put more effort into the production than Kanye West.
Monkeys Fist 42484
Hilarious the total lack of recognition by the crowd to their second number, The Seeker. " What's this one Julian?" "Think it's their new one, never heard it"
Ayatollah Hermione 13894
As dull as it is, at least they put more effort into the production than Kanye West. Kanye's stage show was infinitely more interesting than a big telly.

trooper 940
I thought we were in for some fun & games when Daltrey pulled the drum screen over. Had Moonie been on the drums he'd have had the kit all over the stage i thought The Who were ok i think i'd rather have seen someone like AC/DC close the festival. The Fish 10876
A big lamp? It's been done before. But I thought the Lighting Rig idea was a powerful one, but it was let down by a decidedly average set. Started strongly, but deflated with every track and the half-hearted attempts to please the crowd with Bohemian Rhapsody and his big hitters just further disappointed. ewerk 30684
I agree, looked impressive to begin with then what he might call minimalist, I'd call boring. Also, if you're going to use one of the most famous songs in the world then at least learn the words. https://vine.co/v/eJeHLVJZvB3
NJS 4389
I've never came away from a gig talking about the lighting rig. Sounds like people are desperate to find something positive to say. I don't like the genre, don't know his music and couldn't even name any of his songs so don't know if he was good by his or general standards but the desperation to be positive by people who told us it was wrong to criticise his inclusion and that he would own it or whatever the right phrase is is hilarious. If the gigs you've been to are upstairs in a pub, or small theatres then no, it's unlikely you'd talk about the set-design, but given that when the performance needs to reach thousands of people it becomes important. You can't just hang a banner with your band's name on it. If you've been to big rock gigs at stadiums, they'll have had big sets, lighting rigs and all the rest of it, surely? NJS 4389
Been to many festivals. Stadiums and arenas - I've noticed a level of tech for bands like U2 but its still a miniscule element - I know they're disliked but they reach audiences by music and rapport (and I'd tell Bono to drop all the superfluous shit if I ever met him). I've never been to Glastonbury but I've been to Reading and V several times each. Funnily enough the best headliners I've ever seen in terms of energy, music, engagement and all round being blown away were Suede.
Gemmill 44996
It looked incredible, which was enough to hold my interest for about half an hour. After that and when nothing seemed to be changing, I'd pretty much had enough. This was the best thing about his performance (NSFW). http://m.imgur.com/KQffSiX
The Fish 10876
Don't get me wrong, I think his set was shit and he's massively overrated, but the set design was worthy of recognition.

PaddockLad 17290
This sounds good... http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/whats-on/arts-culture-news/harry-clasper-remembered-new-play-9365563 Now far be it for me of all people to get all "uber Geordie" about anything but where the fuck do they get that the Blaydon Races was written for an obscure (these days) Victorian rower? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blaydon_Races As wiki says I thought the song was written to promote Geordie Ridleys show "at the mechanics hall in Blaydon"?? Further to this, arch mackem hack Kevin McGuire of Daily Mirror fame(?) has repeated the claim in his column this morning. So I've emailed the fucker to find out where they're getting this story from
Kid Dynamite 7034
Was at AC/DC at Hampden Park last night. Great show but the amount of cunts chucking pints into the crowd and stood videoing the entire show on their iPhone takes the edge off it a bit. Also lots of posh folk/hipsters there for some reason who got really upset when the sweaty hairy middle aged men started jumping around and touching them in the crowd
