Debridement of necrotising fasciitis (removal of dead, rotting, infected skin, fat and muscle), where the smell hits you as you enter the theatre complex, 20 feet from the patient, is minging. As is the smell of malaena (bleeding from the stomach that has trickled down through the bowels, half digested and mixed in with the shit). We had a young lad the other night for an OGD for bleeding DUs, he properly shat himself afterwards. Next year the upper threshold is coming down but personal all allowance is going up, meaning earning £41456 will put you on the higher rate.
