Can anyone confirm the merits of anti-inflammatory gel for muscle pain? I've got pain in my shoulder blade/up my neck and it feels muscular cos when I (very slowly!) move my head forward I get heavy 'pulling' pain down my neck and into my back. Painkillers aren't doing anything and it's driving me mad. Never really rated gels for pain relief but need to do something.

Depends how deep it is, but they can be as I am sure youre aware more masking and in the long run you can possibly do more damage. I have used them in the past but find them poor.

Have you got a chiropractor you can see?

You need a neck brace.

Attractive!

wykiki - no, I don't have a chiropractor. It started about 3 days ago and I thought I'd just slept funny but it's getting stiffer each day. Probably because I'm holding it stiffly as the pain is horrible when it catches me. Might speak to one of the docs at work tomorrow night.

Not as effective as an oral formulation but means you dont get the stomach side effects associated with all NSAIDS. If its a muscle then anti-inflammatory is what you want.

Whats wrong with a neck brace

Aye speak to a doc, if not speak to a Chiro. I had a problem with my shoulder that was causing neck / back pain every so often. Turned out I had popped a rib out that was pushing my scapula out causing muscles to compensate for the way my shoulder was. He popped it back in (ooo matron) and gave me a few exercises to do and its been great since.

The mongy bitch I work with is just a genius.

A guy called for someone in the office who was out. So instead of taking his name and company and job he was calling about she just took his first name

What a fucking retard, now this guy in here has come in and isnt any the wiser who called.

Job titles.... what a fucking joke they are.

Seems everyone in our place is a 'Specialist'. We've had 'Technical Specialists' for years but recently the 'Applications Analysts & Developers' have re-branded themselves as 'Application Specialists'. I've asked them what some of them specialise in and the response is often "lots of things".

"Surely that makes you a generalist?" is the response accompanied with a smirk. The irony is not surprising completely missed.

Today however I saw the 'Pièce de résistance' One lass sends an email round with her signature stating she's a Business Improvement Specialist. Core activities of her job include ordering stationary, booking out the department projector, organising the manager's diary & booking people into hotels for business trips....

Aye, she's the fucking admin girl!!!

FFS....

You should make yourself an "Administration Specialist" badge for your profile on here, it might help. ;)

Tell you what, given by that fucking huge number next to his name, I'm considering giving Alex the title "Posting Specialist" <_<
