Arctic Monkeys are class, would love to see them live.

Was talking to this lad in the pub last night who hates the Arctic Monkeys. I expected him to justify it because its not his type of music, doesn't like the lyrics, doesn't like the sound or whatever. Nooo, he likes all that, he just doesn't like them because they've become popular!

I fucking hate these kind of people, why do they have to be so 'alternative' and really like a band when its low-key and then as soon as its on the radio, dis-own them and hate them suddenly. Narrow minded snobs tbh.

I look at it the other way. I think most people that like them only like them because they ARE so popular and were hyped beyond belief. Dancefloor was a great song and got played to death for a year. The album then came out and was average, but the PR machine had done the hard work.

Good point, personally I think the album is excellent but personal tastes and whatever :D

Anyway I wasn't just specifying the Arctic Monkeys, I was just talking about bands in general who people stop liking because its no longer alternative and too popular now, gets on my tits.

Sorry Ally but i don't like them as much now but that's mainly because the album didn't live upto the hype :D

If they'd have kept alot of the original demo's on the cd it would have been much better and had a more of a raw and edgy sound, than some of the blandness i felt from listening to the album

True enough, especially since they're usually the same people who do their shopping at Tesco, watch football on Sky, drink whatever lager's on draught at the pub and so on. Where does their supposed devotion to the underground go then? I mean you wouldn't get it with something like food, would you? "Oh, I don't eat bread. Too mainstream. Pasta? That's teenybopper grub, that is, might as well be eating cheese for god's sake. OK, I admit I used to like it, but now I only eat the arse-scrapings of the Vietnamese pot-bellied pig, dried and served with lemongrass and polenta. But don't tell anyone or they'll all want to try it."

Twats.

As soon as you try too hard to be cool, you stop being cool really. Not saying I'm cool or owt but people should just be themselves more, like what they like and not give too much of a shit about what other people deem to be hip. Be yourself people :D

I've actually gone full circle and I'm now uncool again, which is cool, right?

My mate like the Spice Girls until they were popular. Never cool tbh.

He also liked Star Wars until Ash made a big deal of it.

He was also gutted that Johnny Cash died not because he was a legend, but because he wouldn't be able to buy any of his albums for a few years during the surge in popularity.

tit tbh

Yeah, if you like old Stevie Wonder albums you certainly do :icon_lol: ...It's dragging on a bit what with the tiresome detail of having to earn a living :D but it's shaping up pretty well.....another month or so and it should be done.

I tried to get them on the Pre-Sale, but they went that fast I couldn't.

The day they went on sale properly was a Thursday at 6pm. I was on the internt at 6pm trying to get tickets, by half past it was sold out and I hadn't got any :(
