LeazesMag 0 Posted March 25, 2006 Share Posted March 25, 2006 I tried storing a lot of mp3 files on a DVD-R disk. It's an optorite DVD-RW DD0201 and appears to be capable of burning "all popular formats". I have used to do copy a film or two, so there is nothing wrong with the DVD software or burning process. However it went through all the burning process [using roxio] and when I finished i found all the files were scattered all over the hard drive. Any suggestions what is wrong, if anything other than it possibly NOT liking the format ? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And it appeared to be burning perfectly to the DVD, which I've used many times for other types of files to normal CD-R and CD-RW's. Wierd thing is, I had a loan of a CD-R of a lad who had formatted it like a CD-RW for some reason ie roxio opened it's "formatted disk" programme and was the only way I could use the disk. I am wondering if this has interfered with the setup of the DVD writer. I have uninstalled and re-installed roxio which made no difference. I am just considering whether to put these tracks onto some DVD-RW disks, but am puzzled because the DVD-R should work shouldn't it ? All I can think off the top of my head is that its seeing the Hard Drive or a partition of it as the DVD writer, check the settings within Roxio and make sure that the drive its using is the same one as your actual writer. In any case, there wasn't a folder created for them, they just decided to copy themselves into wherever it was. I will check the roxio settings again. NJS 4457 Posted March 25, 2006 Share Posted March 25, 2006 (edited) I think Pud means that you drag and drop the files into a "target" which mirrors the size of the DVD-R and Nero then burns it to the disk. I'm guessing youre using Neros 'Copy DVD' function. Couple of things to try.. try making an image of the original DVD first, I suspect you might have the same problem with this though. Is the DVD a movie? just look at the drive, drag off the video_ts folder, use nero and pick new -->dvd-video, drag contents of original video_ts folder into the one in the nero gui, burn baby burn Edited March 25, 2006 by luckypierre Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
