Kidding ourselves that getting a replay against Stoke because it means we're still in it and could go on a run, has come home to roost. What exactly were the chances of us getting to final without facing a team above us? Practically nil. So why even pretend that in our current squad situation, cup games are worth doing at all. At least under Roeder they could be accurately described as a welcome distraction as we seemed to have a good cup team, now it just piles on the misery. Sorry like, but just because it was inevitable that we would face Arsenal at some point doesnt mean the cup isnt worth bothering with? Payback for the years we got to the finals in 98 and 99 I guess. In 1998 we had Sheffield United in the semis ffs!
