i'm buzzing for the game tomorrow. my first home game since the 4-3 against forest. i'm on a two game heater after the west ham triumph and feeling good about tomorrow. anyone know if they're planning to lift the trophy again? i imagine eddie has called time on that and it's back to business now after the celebrations on saturday but i'd love to see it in the flesh

I think that should be away now until perhaps the last home game of the season tbh. We're still competing for CL football and one of Howes lessons for the cup final was that he and the team were too emotionally led in our first one a couple of years ago.

All has to be back in the box now until the rest of the jobs done.

Yeah agreed - we've celebrated the cup win. If we do anything again on that it has to be at the end of the season.

There's a job to do ... finish in a CL place - it'll absolutely be the sole focus from Eddie for the rest of the season.

Excellent. Must be enjoying the fact we're outperforming his lady's team at last eh?

You know, I never expected to live beyond my mid 40s so it is such a bonus to wake up each morning and realise I've still got a chance to fall out with even more people... or to make amends with others.

Been for a meal with a pal from University (he graduated 84 and me in 86) for a bite to eat in Panni's and a couple of pints in Wobbly Duck. Now just relaxing with a late large malt while listening to a Soft Machine live set from 69. All is good.

I took my lad to the brighton cup game a few weeks back. I was sat behind the goal in the gallowgate, 2 rows behind me old seat and a couple of seats further in from the aisle. I could picture the younger me sat there, except of course I wasn't.

there was no you or your lad on the other side of the aisle, the bloke and his minxy daughter who used to dj on the quayside were gone. the woman I used to sit next to was still there, but she looked very old bless her, but her husband was gone, maybe a family rift over ashley or maybe he's gone permanently? I didn't go and ask her.

it all made me feel quite sad to be honest, there was only a handful of us stood up to watch isak take his penalty, fucking tragic really wouldn't have been like that 15 or so years ago.

get yourself in the percy tomorrow night, I'll buy yer a pint.  :)

i've got tickets for this; first league game since fulham in dec 2023(

You still can't use a semicolon, though. I don't know how someone who pretends to literary ambitions has such a poor grasp of ordinary grammar. Semicolons join independent clauses; your second clause has no verb so it is not an independent clause. (That was a correct usage, if you'd like to take notes.)

You're plenty good at wishing death on people from the internet though, I guess that's a feather in your cap.

Goodness mate... I presume you're no longer in Cheltenham then....

The type of game Newcastle would typically fumble. The type of game where Newcastle would bring everyone down to earth with a bang on the back of a massive high.

But the old Newcastle does not exist anymore.

3-0 to us after Brentford abandon the game at 15-0 down after 70 minutes.

monmouth....

I've gone international again.

Still nipping across the border for kebabs as in the France / Switzerland scenario?

Really, really great to hear from you again

still suspended, isn’t he?

Ah that's probably what Howe was referring to with 'We shall see him train with the group later this week' regarding the knock he got playing for ENgland.
