RTG have decided it's shameful that a crowd about ten times the size of their average attendance turned up today, while simultaneously failing to to comprehend why 300,000 people gathering to celebrate something with a football club made national news.

Magedia at it again.

If we take their approach to counting attendance there were actually 600,000 people out today

I hope Ashley watched the parade cursing how much money he could have made out of it instead if being a spiteful cunt.

I hope the classless cunt spent the night puking in to a pub fireplace.

I enjoyed this. It was a bit cheesy, a bit 'local' but the players bought into it, massive turnout, entire city united around the football club. Looks like the stream had 40k watching as well from around the world.. lots of people impressed with the turnout and so on.

Positive day for the club, and everyone associated with it.

This. I enjoyed it. The crowds at Haymarket were insane. I also went to the town Moor, then got some food at Jesmond, getting the crowds die down before  getting the Metro back. Plenty of portaloos at the town Moor @RobinRobin and @Christmas Tree  👍

I often wonder whether he has any insight into how;

Paying for a good manager + Supporting him with some quality signings = A club that has tripled in value in 3 seasons.

It's almost like he isn't the business genius he thinks he is, and not every business can be run like a shitty, cut price trainer shop.

Sky, ITV and CNN?!? had streams of it too so the total numbers were even higher. If I’d been home I’d probably have done the parade and watched the event in a boozer too but it was funny as fuck watching the players celebrate on stage - Bruno stole the show bit Isak was class too.

Final word has go to Eddie. He looked like he was having a ball and seemed more relaxed on stage in front of 100k fans and a live global audience than he does being interviewed post-match.

Great when he got all back room staff to hold cup up individually

💯

it was such a waste of a decade and a half. For us and him. But he probably made decent money out of owning the club, which is all he’s arsed about

This is almost off topic, but as a massive Games Workshop and Warhammer fan since the mid 90s it was the greatest pleasure to see Games Workshop enter the ranks of the FTSE100 by kicking Cashley's Fraser Group out.

Managed to lose my Toontastic account details for a while, just got back in, so here is my slightly delayed reaction to the final:

Fucking get in!!!! I was expecting another anti-climactic 2-0 loss with barely a moment to shout for. But not only did the team show up, not only did they compete, but they gave a complete performance. Tactics, effort, quality, bravery, big boy balls - we even scored from a corner, that never happens, what a time to pull it all together!

I’ve rewatched the match back in full including all the buildup and celebration afterwards; I’ve done the same with the commentary on 5 live (incidentally they had Isaac Hayden on throughout the match, spoke really well, had great things to say about Howe); I’m still hoovering up all the analysis Youtube can throw at me, podcasts, the radio Newcastle special. Haven’t got bored of it yet 🙂

I had a much longer version of this post, but it’s all stuff that’s been said more eloquently elsewhere, so I’ve trimmed down to keep my gushing at a minimum.

Right, Youtube is telling me to watch some bloke called Adam Clery talk about the match, so I’ll go do that…
