Spent the day in the centre circle section of Club Wembley before getting guest list for Limp Bizkit at Wembley Arena

 

Its hard to put into words how mental that was & the feeling of seeing the players lift the trophy  in black & white ribbons.

I’ve been thinking about Sir Eddie’s admission that he’s had the tactics for the game for two weeks, and purposely didn’t play them in the league game against the Dippers. 
This is a side who we have not won against in fucking ages, and Howe had never beaten in his managerial career. 
 

Given how superstitious footballers are, I reckon he’s put the hex on them now 

 

We let them have the one match, knowing we were going to fucking paste them when it mattered.

Just watched it again with sober eyes. Main takeaways:

 

Burn’s performance was Herculean. He won absolutely everything in the air.

 

Both sides were unusually direct, to our advantage. I think it was our game plan, to pump it long and use our midfield advantage to win the second balls. Liverpool were forced to go long too because we didn’t allow them to play out.

 

We won duels all over the pitch. They couldn’t cope with our athleticism and tenacity. And when we had to defend, which didn’t happen too often, we blocked pretty much everything. 
 

They were all 10/10 performances 

but Burn, Joelinton, Tonali, Tino and Trippier were different class. 
 

Hat tip to the crowd. It sounded like we were playing at home. Barely a peep from the scousers
