Newcastle v Liverpool - send him victorious

To absolutely dominate the media's suggestive best team in the world, was not a something I would ever have expected to see a few years ago.

A gladitorial performance by many but for me Joelinton was MOTM. So many excellent performances (Burn, Tonali, Trips and Tino to name a few) but Joe was everywhere. His composure in the middle relieved us of pressure regularly, sprung attacks & he was horrible in every tackle. Stopped Liverpool being anything like the side they have been for months.

The perfect game for Pope. You could see every ball was a long ball from Liverpool and while there weren't many knock ons (thanks BDB), any that fed through were mopped up by Pope. Outside of 1 save from Jones, had nothing else to do mind.

Eddie Howe, take a bow. Words can't describe the effect your development and dedication to our football club has had on a generation of supporters. Thank you.

Absolutely smashed on the champagne and loving every moment.

Wonderul that so many of the players that helped project us to where we are now, have won something as a squad before the inevitability of upgrading begins in the summer. They will never leave our hearts.

Savour all & have cracking respective evenings.

Mon the maggies.

I said to Alex yesterday that the player I would be most pleased for if we win would be Joelinton.

He was massive today and one of the main reason we actually turned up today. The way he won duels and the way he was celebrating it showed his character.

I can’t remember ever seeing a player rising that high after being considered a flop.

A special shout out to all the local kids that support the likes of Liverpool and Man City, the little turncoat shits. "Your" teams will no doubt continue hoovering up trophies, but you'll NEVER have a feeling like today.

Did we ever get to find out why the goal we had ruled out for offside was actually offside? It had to be for Bruno because Isak was onside, but I just can't see how he's obstructed Kellegher? Doesn't matter obviously just wanting some closure.

Yeah he has and I'm surprised he wasn't just around for the final like the rest of the boys. Hopefully plenty of chances for the lad to get some silverware with us.

I'm buzzing that Trips got the chance to put his tough times behind him and got to roll back the clock in a classic performance. Absolutely pivotal to us winning today.

Ha, two Schars. Mine, a bit older, both have Gordons.

They are both celiacs and Schär is the major company producing gluten-free products. Fabian sharing the surname and being really handsome does help as well.

As someone who also has two celiacs in the house, I find this hilariously heartwarming

The more I see that goal the better that Murphy header is.

1. He didn't try to score from it

2. He didn't just blindly play it straight across the goal

3. He played it perfectly back into the path of Isak

4. Happy Newcastle United GIF by Newcastle United Football Club

I think because of his position it 100% should be offside because he’s actually ‘interfering with play’ but I’m about 95% it’s not disallowed for them. I do think the officials were good though. Or the ref I should say

Core memory made tonight. My 64 year old dad was my daughters age the last time we won a trophy

Cheers. Fucking got me bawling again.

Honestly, my boy wasn't that bothered about watching but came in with 5 minutes to go. And when the Chiesa goal went in I was tempted to evict the fucking jinx.

Bloody hell lads. We've won a fucking trophy. An actual proper trophy. At Wembley. Against Liverpool. Who we've not beat in a decade. Who are the presumptive PL champions. With the presumptive player of the season on their side.

I was not confident at all. Everything seemed to stack up against us. Losing key players to injury, facing an opponent who'd be a bogey team if they were worse than they are, and all that.

But we were fucking immense. Every single man in black and white was imperious. We didn't sneak a win, or grind one out. We battered the best team in the land. Salah was anonymous. Their much lauded midfield was porous. And the best CB in the league was so shit scared of Isak, van Dijk spent most of the game marking Murphy instead.

Fuck me.

Much love lads, much love.
