Haven’t even see the goals from last night tbh, been busy.

Pope should play, he’s the better goalkeeper overall imo. He’s not in good form which is different, he will only get into good form by playing.

Honestly think the recent performances from the whole team are down to tiredness and lack of options. Our first team can give anyone a game when they play well, but due to injuries, inability to spend and lack of quality in squad players, the majority of our first team have played most games.

He was, not so sure he is now after his dislocation.

I used to agree. Pope was much better than Dubs last season and his poor kicking was less of an issue because he was confidently charging off his line and sweeping up - our whole defence seemed to drop off when Dubs came back in because he was rooted to his line and this massive hole appeared between our midfield and back four.

This season it has hasn’t been the case. We have played our best football with Dubs in goal partially because his much improved distribution helped us retain possession. His shot stopping has improved too. He didn’t do much wrong before he was dropped.

Even if he's technically still a better player, Dubravka was in good enough form to justify retaining his place IMO.

It feels as though the games were just a sweetener to get him to sign a new contract and in doing so we've probably fucked him out of getting a hefty pay day in the middle east. As soon as they announced he'd signed he's been dropped for Pope.

To be fair to Pope though, he was class first half against Nottingham Forest, and even his distribution was great - two of our goals came from long throws by Pope if memory serves. He was dreadful second half but he was one of 11 players on the pitch at any point in time that were fucking shite.

Yesterday, I don't think the first goal was his fault - Schar, Tonali and Tino were all more culpable and Pope's view was blocked. He got lucky with that kick straight off Salah.

I still think Dubravka should have kept his place mind.

Schar should have closed Luiz down and I don’t know what Tonali was doing but Pope went down in instalments trying to save it

Feels like a poll is required for this one. Who do you think should start in goal for the rest of the season?

I can't see why Pope has come straight back in. It looks like he remains Eddie's first choice when fit but I think it's harsh on Dubs, who was excellent when he had a run of games - much better than last season.

Neither are great to be honest, but on current showings it has to be Dubs, Pope has returned looking so nervous and is the worst with the ball at his feet I have seen.

Pope is the better keeper, but his confidence and match fitness is currently shot. Only one way that's going to be improved.

That said, I don't think last night was the best platform to do that - I think Dubravka should have played. I'd go with Pope for other games though.

I agree with that. Dubravka has done well recently and it was harsh dropping him considering Pope seems to have lost confidence. But I can see where Eddie is coming from. Pope is the overall better keeper. He needs form and confidence back.

Some people on social media going on as if Dubravka is peak Buffon ffs. He deserves credit for recent performances but he's often been a horror show for us and just isn't a good shot stopper.

Mind you this thing that's happened to our 30+ year olds in that they seem to have aged 10 years in 6 months, if Pope is going through the same thing then it's a different story. And he really is terrible with his feet. Watching him and Burn pass it about at the back is the stuff of nightmares. GK definitely needs sorting out come the summer.

I can’t be arsed to go through the stats but I would bet that during the good run, where Dubravka made such a difference. He hardly had a shot to deal with, and the rest of the team played well, comparatively to the games that Pope has played.

Now you could argue that Dubs made the rest of the team play well, but I would disagree.

mebees that's why he was stood so close to his left post when forest scored their first on sunday?

Yeah. Exactly my thought too. Overcompensating to the left and it cost him to his right.
