Osula must be wondering what he’s got to do to get on

His energy would have been good here you'd have thought.

Don't we have to finish top 7? Maybe top 6?

There will be an extra spot in the conference league as Liverpool obviously won't need it.

Not playing like we have against Fulham, Bournemouth, Brighton, Liverpool and City we won't.

We're 4 points off 3rd. Loads to play for in the league, and being out of the FA Cup should focus minds. Probably does us a favour in the league.

Botman obviously nowhere near, Gordon suspended, looked like Isak was struggling with groin again and Hall crocked, welcome to Wembley 🙄

At least Joelinton is back.

Heartbreak that. What an opportunity missed. Brighton weren’t great but neitber were we. Wilson, Murphy, Schar, Targett all way off it. A moment of petulance from Gordon fucked us in this game, possibly our season too.

100% that more than a lack of effort. Joelinton has obviously just come back so couldn’t play the whole match in retrospect start with your best midfield 3. Bruno has had to play a long time anyway. So he may as well have started. Him and Tonali can obviously play well together but it’s so important to be able to play as midfield 3. So Willock messes that up when he’s introduced too because he’s not a possession type of player. There’s just a lack of balance when we have to make one or two changes because the squad isn’t good enough. Howe gets stupid amounts of stick on social media but I honestly think he’s still doing an amazing job with what he has. Agree with your earlier comment about Wilson. He looks to be a cart horse these days. And he’s the only other experienced CF at the club.

I an always impressed by how we can fuck up cup finals before the match even kicks off. JFC

The amount of times over the years where we've managed to invent a worse outcome than a loss; often red cards, sometimes injuries, always disappointing. This feeling is sadly not uncommon.

If I can spin things positively, the final may mean the return of the Willock/Joelinton pivot on the left which used to be pretty handy and would keep teams guessing. Trent absolutely struggles against direct pace though so not sure we could have picked a worse player to lose than Gordon. Other than Isak, obviously

@GrahamTaylor5 yes that's a better way of putting it.

The amount of times over the years where we've managed to self-inflict a worse outcome than a loss...

Frustrating part is we’ve caused our own problems all match and still created more than enough to win

Yes.  did more than enough to win, fuck all end product

Gordon idiotic. That’s not given as a straight red in front of the kop …. why the fuck did he give the ref a decision to make though? 😑

Days like this are proof positive that a massive summer is needed. I’m not sure the options were out there but it would have been nice to see us gamble on a CF on loan but I suppose they were rolling the dice to see if Wilson still had it

The buck stops with the manager but I feel very sorry for Howe. He hasn’t had any first team reinforcements for three windows. There was always a danger our form could drop away. And we sold Kelly and Miggy without as much as a loan replacement so he has next to no rotation options as the inevitable injuries and suspensions start to bite.

I am going to criticise Howe for his loyalty to certain players however. Schar is in his worst run of form since the takeover, I’d genuinely start Krafth ahead of him at this stage. At least he can run and he is a competent defender. He also understands his limitations and won’t try the Hollywood passes to no one that schar. Wilson too. Osula has done more in his cameos than Wilson has managed for about a season

Typical NUFC. That’s why I wonder where Gemmill does get his über-confidence from.

It comes from having an enormous penis and huge biceps.
