Howe's Half Arsed Wank Pots v Nuno's Affable Scab Bastards

If she is, she's right. Pope looked like shit and Dubravka, who I still have not fully warmed back up to after his sojourn at Man U, has done nothing to deserve being dropped. You could feel the crowd's nervousness every time Pope took a touch, it's not like other teams will have failed to notice that.

Willock was loads better today too, I thought. Much more like his old self in the first half with some great marauding runs forward and using his pace to get in behind. We could do with more of that from him.

“have you signed that new deal yet Martin?”

”Yes, Eddie”

”BENCHED”

he should go back in for Liverpool. Hasn’t done anything to deserve to lose his place nor did pope take the opportunity to reclaim it today.

It would be tempting to say that our CBs are getting old and we need some pace and power back there but then the lack of midfield press and control exposed them massively.

I’ve ran out fingers counting how many times Schar has attempted the 60 yard switch ball only for it land perfectly to an opposition player 20 yards out. Surely the management is telling him to cut this out?

Burn looks like he was targeted in the second half. Let him have the ball then press him. Seems simple.

I don’t think we’ll playing out from the back much v Liverpool so I’d keep him in. I just hope he has all the rust out of his system and has a worldie to keep the score down to 5.

It was a very poor second half. We’ve been a schizophrenic team this season but rarely across two halves to that extent in the same match. Blew them away first half then strolled around in the second half like we did last week against Man City.

Luckily the game was won in the first half. I’d love to know what Howe told them at half time. We were a completely different side after the break - so poor and almost let them back in.

Miley and Hall our two positives for me. Burn’s worst game for a while. Schar poor again too. Pope hasn’t done enough to justify a recall on this evidence either. We look much more secure with Dubs.

Atmosphere was as bad as the arsenal atmosphere was good a few weeks back. Crowd was so nervous even at 4-1 up.

Which Newcastle will turn up against Liverpool? I think we’ll revert to a back five

The atmosphere was class imo.

The regular fall offs we have, regardless of the results are a concern. 4-1 up and forest having to take the game to us which really isn't their strength but we gave them plenty of encouragement. Fresh blood is desperately needed if we want to carry on these European challenges and challenges for cups, there's players who are definitely coming to the end of their time here as well as they've done for us, really don't want to limp in the end of the season when we are where we are in league and cups. Wilson was horrific when he came on and I'm talking about strengths of his like his strength in physical tussles, Schar is showing signs of decline and tbh the arsenal game wasn't the norm for Tripps these days. Big summer ahead and I'm quietly confident we'll do well out of it but it's a bit frustrating that this season is up for grabs but we're creaking a bit.

Nail on head. I think Howe and the team have managed to squeeze every last bit of potential from this squad and they're just run the course now. God I hope there's a cup win at the end of it. We absolutely don't look like it right now but football can be funny.

Another one of those cameos from Wilson and he's going to find himself below Osula in the pecking order. Needs to have a look at what's happened to Longstaff.

Wilson should never get a run out again based on today. Two chances to put the game to bed and the daft greedy cunt put himself over the team.

I fully accept that the above will bite me on the arse and look forward to it. Hopefully, in the final.

Another bi-polar performance from us. Ten minutes of the good team managed to do enough to cover for a good half and a bit worth of the shit team. Forest irrelevant. That was a game between the two sides of this team.

The squad desperately needs a refresh and more competition for places in key positions.

We'll get hammered by Liverpool in league and cup with a performance like that because they won't gift us goals from poor defensive structure the way Forest did. But they will certainly punish us for defending like that.
