Newcastle Snuggle-Bugs vs Legomans Moaners

Recommended Posts

Watching back our first goal the work from Isak in the lead up was nothing short of brilliant, the way he flicked the ball on for Gordon and immediately started his run. Then receiving the return pass (which was good too) from Gordon and being prepared to take the early shot which was very unlucky not to go in with the amount of swing it had on it. Top class.

Last final we played the team was missing Pope/Dubs, Hall, Tonali, Isak, Gordon and Murphy. Gonna be a different game this time round

You're forgetting that we had ASM in the last final.

As funny as that is it's not even a choke, they just got beaten by a better team twice. (+1 more in the league too).

Has Botman fucked his knee again?

Let’s recall Lloyd…

I think/hope it was more precautionary/giving him a break for the last 10 given he's still returning to match conditioning?

Top quality image - the same one that flashed up on the screen eons after it was ruled out. Did they have someone in the VAR room snap a picture with their early 2000s mobile phone?

Interviewer: In spite of you creating good chances in the game in particular the first half why do you think Newcastle was able to control... to keep more control of the game... and in the end win?

Arteta: Because we needed to generate a moment, we had a moment in the first half and we didn't capitalise. The next action is a long ball we concede and in that moment momentum shifts...... and the game slowly started to get away from us.

......

Interviewer: Do you feel you could have dealt with your emotions better throughout the match especially in those first 20 to 25 minutes

Arteta: I think later in the game obviously you start to get more tired and you know that you have a big mountain to climb and to play in these conditions is hard.... but I suffer for the boys.

Very interesting of the interviewer to ask that second question, and nice dodge on answering it.

The first one shows how bitter he is to try to reduce the Murphy goal to being a long ball. And of course conveniently forgetting that prior to this we had a goal ruled out for a minuscule offside margin.

😭

Eddie: A great achievement for the players, everyone connected to the club, it was a really special night, I thought we played really well. Great to win the game as well.

Trippier was utterly immense btw, at times he was beating them on his own. Positioning spot on, physical when needed, winding up the no-account Skeleton Lewis or whatever - perfect performance. He didn't trouble the scorers but short of that it was about as good as you can play. Big game from a big game player, you love to see it.
