Merson is getting the work as a favour to keep him out of trouble, I reckon. He's fucking hopeless and genuinely doesn't seem to know what's going on half the time.

He's absolutely embarrassing at times. Makes me wonder whether he's had more than a few snifters before going live.

Clinton Morrison is another one stealing a living. The guy talks about himself in the third person and has a limited number of phrases to trot out weekly.

Lee Dixon, Rio Duck Lips, but…

If you took 10 tons of mince, put it in a whale sandwich , folded it in half, then put it in a castle wall, it still wouldn’t be as mind-numbing fucking thick as Merson

All it says on his autocue is

“ Breathe in”

” Breathe out”

Probably easier to mention the ones who are half decent or tolerable?

Anyway, in no particular order of shit pundits:

Steve Mcmanaman: Cunt (Liverpool)

Michael Owen: cunt, boring. (Liverpool and Man U, depends who's playing).

Savage: Cunt. (Thinks he's Man U).

Merson: Cunt, Thick, blancmange for a brain. (Arsenal, sometimes Villa, never Boro).

Carragher: Cunt, aggressive (when Liverpool are criticised), likes to hockle. (Liverpool and sometimes Everton).

Gary Neville: Not an outward cunt but thinks Sky Sports is his platform to waffle about 'Yanaahted' all day and night. (Man U).

Keane: Cunt, dismissive of every cunt and any cunt, entitled as fuck regarding Man U, Roy, they're shit mate. (Man U).

Alan Smith: ZZZzzzzzzz (Arsenal)

Keown.: Tries to appear reasonable until arsenal are mentioned in a negative manner then he doesn't like it.(Arsenal).

Redknaap: Engages tongue before brain, (Liverpool and Tottenham)

Joe Cole: See Redknaap. (Chelsea)

R Ferdinand: Cunt, thinks he'd have been a fashion designer if not a footballer so thick as fuck. (Man U, never West Ham or Leeds United).

Murphy: as has been said, son of Lawrenson. (Liverpool, very occasionally Spurs).

Scholes: Cunt, like Keane can't handle Man U being shit, doesn't think he's there to talk about anything or anyone that isn't 'Yanaahted'. (Man U).

Haven't bothered with the non-entities on talk sport.

Very noticeable that they're heavily weighted towards a few clubs ex-players.

Alan Shearer: Subservient waffler who once in a while sticks up for his “home town club” but tends to lick the hoop of the red tops  (NUFC)

Whilst my reply was tongue in cheek, what's the difference between a jurno and a pundit?

Should your question have been which ex pro is shite as a pundit?

A pundit is merely an expert in a certain field isn't it?  I.e some would say Phil Mcnulty a journalist is a football pundit in that case is he not?

If we’re allowed to chose podcasters then The Fish surely wins in a landslide?

Are they fuck. They’re no better qualified to talk about football and NUFC than any other fucker, and that includes even YOU Kev 🫵🏻😅

There are presenters, who invariably are journos but not always, some of the top ones now seem to have had a famous father who played the game. Lineker and the late Michael Robinson actually made it from the pitch to the top of TV sports presenting without any qualification to their name. That took real ability iyam. Especially for Robinson, who did it in a foreign country.

Then there’s the vast hoardes of ex players on call for their opinions, via a playing career of variable ability and success who are, as has been pointed out, mostly fuckin useless. All that is required for most is just the self confidence to do it. To even the most casual viewer their actual content is in a lot of cases irrelevant; it’s got to be, they talk nonsense on fuckin toast. There’s a few I like very much, they’re mostly on 5 live. Pat Nevin, Nedum Onua, Rob Green are all decent. McCoist is by miles the best co commentator, the rest are as mentioned mostly fuckin brutal.

Of the older soccer saturday generation I'm actually going to go for Charlie Nicholas. He probably is smarter than Merson and Le Tissier really but he sticks out in my mind for getting really mad at something Stelling said at his expense and being completely unable to form a comeback at all. No bants.

Of the modern lot its hard to look past Ferdinand, thick as shit and desperate to be viral/cool. His fucking Balon d'or thing when Bellingham scored in the euros was one of the most cringeworthy things I've seen in a sports broadcast.

I genuinely don't care about their sex, if they're shit they're shit. Tbh they're no worse than half of the knackers already mentioned.

Charlie Nicholas was hopeless, the De Jong fuck up he once said was typical of him.
