Help - PSG Away

Hi All, I'm a City fan here in peace.

Next week we travel to Paris for PSG away.

The club have decided to wait until today (A mere 6 days before the game) to announce that there could potentially be names on tickets and ID checks on the turnstiles.

As you can probably imagine, there'll be many blues who've bought tickets and passed them on to friends and family, as there was no Indication of any ID checks in the Ticket Info before the tickets were bought!

It's been a few years since we last went to Paris, there were certainly no checks in place last time we were there.

Can anybody who went to your game there last year please confirm whether there was or wasn't ID checks on the turnstiles when you went.

Thanks in advance.

Dunno if anyone here was at it last season, I definitely remember we got a very small allocation from PSG. You might have more luck asking over on Newcastle Online.

If your ticket is sent as a PDF rather than a mobile ticket then it's fairly easy to change the name on it.

They were PDF tickets at Juventus last month, and belive it or not, the stewards would scan your ticket and the name would show up on their screen, meaning changing the PDF didn't make a difference.

A few hundred blues didn't make it in to the ground because of that.

The difference with that was that the club gave us plenty of notice, and made it very clear there'd be checks before you purchased the ticket. This time they've just sprung it on us 6 days before!

I was there mate, I can’t really remember tbh

We definitely got ID’d at the San Siro

Dortmund was an utter clusterfuck, so I don’t think anyone got properly checked bar just the usual ticket cordons

I’ll dig the ticket stub out see if my names on it. Sounds like this is a late message from PSG tbh, and if its physical tickets it’s fuckin abysmal that you haven’t got them already 😑

I did a bit of research on all 3 of our cl opponents at the time with an obvious view to heading over there and trying to pick up a ticket and the likelihood of getting in with a passport that didn't match a personalised ticket.

dortmund was by far the most lax as you say, even the info on their website didn't indicate you'd be taking much of a gamble.

I read that at the san siro they were looking at people tickets/passports with not much more than a cursory glance and waving you through. loads of people got in with tickets that didn't match. even those checks sound more strict than when I was there in the early 00s, as I don't recall anything at all. mind you, I was fucking hammered on beer being sold illegally by turks from the underground car park next to milan train station!

I read psg's website on their information to visiting supporters and it sounded hellish. quickly crossed that one off me list, in fairness I suppose it's not that long since they had a terrorist attack there.

Nice one @PaddockLad, they're mobile tickets fortunately so they'll probably be sent out this weekend.

This morning the city website removed the part of the psg fan info where it suggested there'd be ID checks. What's likely happened, is some lazy cunt in the ticket office has probably copied and pasted the ticket info from Juventus last month without actually checking it. Useless twats the lot of them.

Not sure if you’ve been before @MossSideBlue it was my favourite trip last season, the other two were fine but Paris is such an iconic city. I’ve been a few times before but not for football and we were with some Paris virgins and they were bowled over by the place. £10 a pint mind isn’t for the faint hearted. This was just before the teams come out, place was rocking…
