I am disappointed with the game today and the result, but tbh because we have such a great run and a great set of results, I am a bit meh about it.  If someone said we would lose today and be shit, but you will get a day at Wembley, I would have deffo taken it.

2.26 to 0.79xG in their favour.

They were deserved winners but they weren't deserved 4-1 winners.

Also, at least the manager and the players are saying the same themselves post match. Second best all across the park, couldnt cope with their intensity, etc.

It's a blip.

Aye that's what I meant, but we were 3inches from losing 5-1 today after conceding 3 goals  in the last 9. The drop off in performance is crazy

We were the stupid fuckers trying to keep it in play. This is our fucking goal! Why would Tonali do this? Just poor decision making imo, nothing to do with tiredness, and he was our best player.

Anyway, let's hope for a good response. 7 days to prepare.

He was trying to prevent a corner.

I know. By stretching out uncontrolled and passing it straight to an opposition player to tap into the net. The irony it then being disallowed for a corner. It just struck me as incredibly stupid, just let it go out for a corner in those circumstances. Iirc we have one of the best records at defending corners. This is just an example, watching us play out of defence today was hands over the eyes stuff, all match.

The passing and decision making was really off today. Tiredness maybe a factor but I just credit Bournemouth outplaying us at our own game personally. What worries me is they're only a point below us now.

I agree, but our drop in intensity and motivation in various games this season does need to get addressed by the coaching staff. There have been too many games this season where players just looked not caring enough right from the start.

He did get a better clearance on that than Burn did at times. Burn IMO looked fucked from the off. Whilst he put in some decent challenges he he did look tired.

I thought Dubravka could have done better for a couple of the goals today mind. He's much better with his feet than Pope, but he went down in stages for a couple of the shots across him

We were second best from one to eleven, I don't put any of the goals on Dubs, I do dread to think how much more we'd have been under the cosh with Pope's kicking skills.

Seeing as everyone was shit picking out specific mistakes seems a bit unfair unless you do it for everyone.

Ok, I’ll revert to type and say it was mostly Bruno’s fault 😊

Disappointing to say the least.
Not sure what the point is of having a squad when EH keeps running them into the ground. Yes the data might say they are fine but mental exhaustion cannot be measured by a heart rate monitor. They also looked like they all thought it was going to be an easy win.

Hall has been our best player most of the season so it is hard to bench him but he's not quick and everyone knew he'd be up against a quick winger.

Kelly is quick, he's also ex-Bournemouth, so you would think he's got a point to prove and as a bit of insight into his ex-team-mates but he doesn't even get on as a sub?

If we are not going to use him when players legs are falling off and when he should be busting a gut to prove himself, may as well send him on to Turkey or where ever and get some money for him.

Also, when are we ever going to get a player like Kluivert who can confidently take their chances and score goals from anywhere. I always rated his old man and was excited when he signed for us but that just turned out to be another NUFC disappointment. Now his midget child turns up to SJP and the cunt cannot stop scoring.

Most of our final ball in the attacking half is shocking. And unless we are in the 18 yard box, it's like they cannot or are not allowed to shoot, test the opposition keeper ffs.

Suppose it wouldn't be Newcastle United if they didn't build up your hopes before reverting to type. [/Hyperbole]

I mean the point is we don't really have a squad. It's a massive drop off in ability across most positions once you start to rotate outside of the first 11.

There's no way we came into this with 8 wins on the bounce if Howe had spent the last 8 games sharing the load amongst the squad. And no one was telling Howe to rotate players when we were keeping winning.

We got beat. We were long overdue getting  beat. Just let them get beat and we go again against Southampton next weekend.

It's like AFTV on here today.

I don't disagree CMP but it was obvious young Lewis was in trouble from very early on and if EH cannot utilise a player he has signed twice, who surely would love to get on over his former employer, then...it's disappointing.

And yes, I think quite a few in various match threads did make comment that it would be smart to get some of our mainstays off earlier and rested.

btw like a man who spent the day being rubbed and tugged without a happy ending, having his champagne piped up his arse and his high tea sandwiches rested on his eyes, has no place claiming he knows anything about football, every.

Ah so you're not talking about rotating, you're just talking about making subs earlier when the job is already done. Which would make very little difference cos Howe has done that where he could. What makes a difference is being able to bring the class lads ON at 70 minutes, not take them off.

I just find it bizarre that we've got a load of wise after the fact drivel getting posted, including one of our best performers getting pulled up for the 100% standard "crime" of trying to prevent a corner.

They've been fucking outstanding recently. There doesn't have to be this "if only they'd done what I think they should have done", "this whole tiredness thing is nonsense, I just don't buy it," post mortem. Just take the loss ffs. It's fine.

Exactly, so why are you bringing up hypothetical stuff if he was playing?  I.e the result would have been worse.

I didn't bring it up, I was responding to a post that criticised Dubravka and which also mentioned Pope 🤣
