There’s not been many better away performances since the takeover… I mentioned Huijsen before the game and I don’t think I’ve seen a better defender at 19 in my life. That includes Kevin Scott :cuppa:

You did indeed will him into position to block Gordon's shot, thanks for that.

We aren’t good enough yet not to have the odd day off. The other team playing very well doesn’t help either.

We also do still lack players to cope with mental and physical fatigue. Having a fit Wilson or a Barnes not being out of form might could have helped.

We must make sure not to get arrogant and cocky but are back to our best against Southampton though. They might have few points but will still be out to hurt teams like us.

Did Bournemouth not play in the FA cup and midweek like? They were fresh as daisies and used their energy incredibly efficiently whilst we did the opposite.

They played a day earlier. So effectively 50% more recovery time than us.

Just remembered they had a goal ruled out for offside too! 🤮

Out of play I think? Which it clearly was from where I was, but that sequence of 0lay summed up our atrocious decision making for me. We passed it to them to score a goal rather than blasting it out.

They played away from home. We played Bromley and a bottom 4 side at home prior to this. Clutching at straws here.

we’ve got the perfect game next to try to put this one behind us. Southampton are the worse side in the league. Isak should have a field day

We also had won the last 8 matches in a row. Let them have a bad day.

And the recovery time absolutely matters. We've been away at Spurs, Arsenal, and Man United in this run too. It all adds up.

It's not like they walked to SJP. That was very clearly tired legs, I've seen them, I've had them, that's them. The easy passes get misshit, the poor passing option is taken, the runs aren't tracked. It's only part of the picture and not taking anything away from Bournemouth who were clearly superior. Howe likely won't have trained at all with them since the midweek game.

You were on a pamper day man. Tiredness doesn't explain the poor judgement and passing. The midfield 3 didn't look tired. The defence was the weakest link today.

Not having a go, we've been superb. Today we were beaten by a better side on the day.

So, that was a unpleasant way to blow £50

Forget how different it is at the game to on TV, as you get to see all the running off the ball and positional play.  Unfortunately that was all them and not us. After 10 minutes it felt like we were playing footballs version of the Harlem Globetrotters  and it was very clear how the day was going to go and which team wanted the 3 points more. They seemed to terrorise us all over the pitch, won every second ball and transitioned perfectly. Nobody could live with them. They were also much more physical than us. Basically, they did to us what we have done to so many in the past. (I'm sure privately, Jason Tindall had nothing but admiration for their dirty arts).

It's really hard to signal anyone out for the blame as they were all so alien to their normal game, but Lewis Hall was tortured and Gordon at times looked stoned. Only Martin the gloves had a decent game and it could quite easily have been 8-1 but for some great keeping and poor finishing.

I feel sorry for @Dazzler , the higher you fly, the greater the fall. :(

It very much does, slower of thought and execution when you’re knackered
