He did, interspersed with a couple of draws in the league cup. Mickey mouse league tho but.

Optimistic Nut 440
Minor criticism is he seems a stickler for "same again, lads", after a win. I thought before Bournemouth he should be bringing Botman in for Burn. Burn's done well this season but it's one area we could have freshened things up in the first XI and had an upgrade... "Like a new signing" almost. I can see the merits of not changing much when the form is good, but I also think it freshens things up a bit and keeps everyone on their toes every now and again, too. Especially when one of the players out of the XI at the moment is probably the only one who improves the XI when everyone is full fit.
wykikitoon 22494
I would agree. But I also see the merits of a consistent back four. But Burn and Schar aren't spring chickens and I would have put Botman in. I don't understand why Botman has played zero minutes for the last couple of games. I don't think you change central defenders if you can help it during a game (unless you have a big lead and want to give someone game time). Like you say, a consistent back four has merits, I'd go so far as to say it's more important than that. The bigger problem is that we really don't have any other players we can bring in without significantly weakening the team or even players we can bring off the bench to impact a game(particularly while Barnes is out). Basically we need the current starting eleven to the majority of the work and then use the subs to rest them when the game is virtually won.

strawb 4614
Outclassed Arteta tonight, totally out-thought him and it was amazing. They didn’t have a clue, first half sub of whoever their winger is was a massive clue Arteta shit the bed. Again

Optimistic Nut 440
Think that's the formula moving forward. Hall LCM/LB and Burn LB/LCB with Botman back in was superb.

thebrokendoll 10155
brother called me last night when I was on me way back to the car, emotions are still running high, it's still less than half an hour after a tremendous match finished proclaiming howe to be the greatest manager in our lifetime. had to calm him down a bit, he's not. could well go on to be though.

I dont think he's far away. KK is the one to beat but if we get a cup out of this, I think he's there.

Holden McGroin 7411
It was different times back then. It's more tactical these days. Almost like a game of chess. Eddie is without doubt an amazing tactician and massively underrated because he is English.
Christmas Tree 5053
Keegan was is a god, but hard to compare to Howe given the financial clout Keegan had behind him. Most who lived through the Keegan journey thought we never experience anything like it again in our lifetimes and here we are on another one. Not sure what the managerial situation was then. Despite rumours I'm not that old. Ask @Toonpack.🙂

I don’t think we have the depth to play that system week in week out. Great plan B though.
