He did, interspersed with a couple of draws in the league cup. Mickey mouse league tho but.

Optimistic Nut 398 Posted Monday at 15:05 Share Posted Monday at 15:05 Minor criticism is he seems a stickler for "same again, lads", after a win. I thought before Bournemouth he should be bringing Botman in for Burn. Burn's done well this season but it's one area we could have freshened things up in the first XI and had an upgrade... "Like a new signing" almost. I can see the merits of not changing much when the form is good, but I also think it freshens things up a bit and keeps everyone on their toes every now and again, too. Especially when one of the players out of the XI at the moment is probably the only one who improves the XI when everyone is full fit.
wykikitoon 22059 Posted Monday at 15:09 Share Posted Monday at 15:09 I would agree. But I also see the merits of a consistent back four. But Burn and Schar aren't spring chickens and I would have put Botman in. I don't understand why Botman has played zero minutes for the last couple of games. I don't think you change central defenders if you can help it during a game (unless you have a big lead and want to give someone game time). Like you say, a consistent back four has merits, I'd go so far as to say it's more important than that. The bigger problem is that we really don't have any other players we can bring in without significantly weakening the team or even players we can bring off the bench to impact a game(particularly while Barnes is out). Basically we need the current starting eleven to the majority of the work and then use the subs to rest them when the game is virtually won.
