I want to retain Longstaff. The stick this lad takes is insane imo.

The stick he gets is for that pen claim he looked for because he was too scared to shoot tbf. It’s that sort of shit I can’t stand about him.

And why our CL charge will be in tatters if we get a couple of injuries.

Aye, we've been lucky that our best 6 or 7 players have pretty much played every game this season so far. Got to hope Bruno, Tonali, Isak, Gordon, Hall etc don't get injured.

I think he seems a really nice kid, but the gap between our first choice midfield and him is now massive. We'd be better off promoting Miley and bringing him on than persisting with Longstaff imo.

 100%

Keep him around if he's happy to be a squad player

I'd absolutely keep him here. It's odd though, I think he gets a fair bit of stick too, but I'd say a fair bit of it is warranted though he doesn't get some of the credit he also deserves. Been overall poor here though, Miggy too. The rest have been OK given we're working in limited space against opposition who have been very good positionally.

Can we just play with 9 men and take off Ciggy and Miggy?

I'd bring on Bruno for Joe half time

Bruno is rested and some game time will be good for him plus he'll bring calmness to the team. Joe not really working in this system and could do with a bit of rest too.

'Miggy, when we have the ball on the edge of their box, the idea is we try and score'
'So when you're always passing back to Fabs because you have no right foot it thwarts our chances so we have to build again'

'Divvant know Miggy lad, I think he means fall over in the box, i'll dee that bonny lad, don't you worry'

I think the problem with Longstaff is that the role he is given is not that appealing to watch. I find him frustrating at times, but he offers far more than is acknowledged.

Not really, it's him that's not appealing to watch at times not the position. He frequently positions himself deep in their box, and often gets the ball there but generally with a defender anywhere near him he takes too long to do anything whether it's pass or shoot.

Apparently Joe was due a rest then Willock got a knock.

Better in that last 15 minutes, passed the ball around a bit quicker and a few gaps opened. Much better than trying to force it through the middle, it’s too congested there.

I think that's it. We need to speed it up.
