Missed this as I was grafting last night so sleeping.

I’ve just read the thread without knowing the result, and, as funny as this place is, here’s a clue to the highlight.

@PaddockLad, I’d say absolutely but sitting in with that lot of moaning cunts for 110 minutes was fucking torture.

Not an objective one amongst them. I’m all for club bias but fuck me.

Atmosphere was flat as fuck too and I really wanted to be in with our lot who were in good voice for the majority of the game.

Have to say like, think Spurs might actually be outdoing Villa as the saltiest... the number of people failing to understand the handball rule and calling corruption is actually impressive.

Aye. I think it’s fuelled in part by Anita Dobson* being disingenuous about it because his job is on the line. But you’re right in that it still shows an ignorance of the rule. Which was interpreted absolutely correctly.

*That’s one for the kids.

It wasn’t you I saw kicking off with a few of them before security got involved?

we’ve got a weird way of getting under the skin of certain managers. This is like Arteta all over again

I think the words you’re looking for are: Jason Tindall

No, not me. Didn’t see any trouble where I was.

Seems like they all thought the handball by Joe wasn't a handball but thought Burn could have had a second yellow for his and it's ok Kunt smashed Gordon in the face because he got a bollocks hair touch on the ball

Are you talking about MotD there?

Because I watched that and thought it was an absolute stitch up of Anges post match whining.

You can probably partially blame it on the handball rules constantly changing and in particular around the lead up to scoring.

These are the actual rules for the record. So Joelinton's was clearly accidental and the goal was not directly from the arm or immediately after it and it was scored by a different player. So the decision was 100% correct and there's no controversy at all. Sorry whAnge. Just makes himself look petty and foolish by complaining about something that he is so obviously wrong about.

Accidental handball before a goal is scored

It is an offence if a player scores in the opponents’ goal:

-Directly from their hand/arm, even if accidental, including by the goalkeeper
-Immediately after the ball has touched their hand/arm, even if accidental

Mitigating factors

-Goal not immediate
-Goal scored by a teammate
-Ball not entering goal; however action of a defender
results in an ‘own goal’

Looking at this, I think that justifies the goal being chalked off that came off Brunos elbow. Harsh, but I think it was the correct decision based on rules alone.

The actual handball law. None of which applies to an opposition player spanking the ball off Joelinton's hand down by his side

Was scary yesterday the lack of so-called experts who don't understand the rules. Can understand if the everyday fan has missed the rule change about it having to be the goalscorer now, not just in the lead up to the goal.

Every time the ball hits the hand you'd basically be stopping play for a free-kick just in case further down the line the ball goes in.

I’m not even sure Dan Burn even handled it. It looked like it was around shoulder area which is why I think he escaped the second yellow.

To be fair though, if the ref deemed it a handball then he should have walked.

I only saw the Burn 'handball' during the game but the way that I saw it was that his arms were in an unnatural position to be able to manage runners. Therefore, when the ball hit his arm, it was in an unnatural position but it was not his intention to do the handball, if that makes sense?

I don't think you necessarily get a yellow card for every handball.
