Tottenham Hotspur vs Newcastle United

I think this version of our team might be challenging the 90s era version in terms of how much I like them. Villa, Man Utd and Spurs, all put to the sword in a row. Fucking hell.

We're getting CL this season. Calling it now. We're probably the 3rd best team in the league realistically.

Scrappy second half but it looked like we knew what we were doing, Spurs controlled the ball but they barely had one or two decent chances the whole half. This is another Howe tactical lesson in the midst of fixture congestion and tired legs.

Also this is what having brilliant technical players can do for you. The difference between what Tonali was doing there in the last 15 minutes and what Longstaff would typically be able to do is massive. It's no coincidence we've hit form as he's found his place in the side for us.

Brilliant result again. You can't expect to dominate every game with the players having played this many minutes. The concern now will be what legs they have for midweek but this has been a fantastic series of performances and results.

The only team to win a game in televised history where the winning team doesn't get a player awarded motm.

Was it self awarded by the ref?

Usual mackem bullshit bingo over there. The PL is shite, we've bribed the officials, they could beat Spurs, Jobe Bellingham is worth £200 million etc.

yeah, we lost control in the second half but it felt tactical, to conserve energy and see it out. A bit like the Man U game. Not always the easiest watch but we restricted them to two shots on target and Madison’s chance that flashed wide.

if I’m being hyper critical, i’d have liked fresh legs on earlier. A few of them were running on fumes for the last half an hour or so
