Just watched Amorim's press conference and it was just one manc reporter after another telling him that surely he needs to compromise and change his system to accommodate the players.

In the end he goes "these players were bought to play a very specific system for which they've been coached and had two pre seasons, and they were losing games constantly. If they can't win games playing the exact system they were bought and coached to play, then why would I compromise and go back to that system."

Fair play, it's a good point.

Genuinely ridiculous to be listening to reporters trying to tell a manager how to do his job as well.

He also responded to a question in his interview on the American stream about his tactics - and would he need to change them.

He just says something to the effect of - I change the tactics all the time but people seem to be obsessed with the three centre backs as if it's somehow the be all and end all of tactics.

I like the bloke, I think he's probably too genuinely canny to be managing that shit show like and I think it seems like he's already starting to regret leaving Sporting.

Aye I'd be amazed if he's happy with his decision to leave Sporting. I agree, he seems a canny bloke. The situation he's got himself into is a fucking mess though.

First person we should be praising is @Dazzler

In fairness this has quite literally been the easiest run of games we've had all season - I'll take credit for the free flowing goals though, that's all on me.

He was offered to them in the summer apparently, but Ashworth wanted to stick with Ten Hag and suggested Frank, Silva, and Howe as the best alternatives.

Which apparently angered Ratcliffe that he'd appointed this supposed genius who couldn't see beyond current PL managers for a replacement. Even though it makes perfect sense to go for proven PL experience.

Seems like Ratcliffe wanted a manager who'd be easy to get in on the cheap rather than trying get a proven PL manager. Sounds like several managers we got under Ashley.

I thought I would never wish Ashley on anyone. Turns out that was bullshit. This is wonderful.

Chatter in mancland seems to be that Ashworth didn’t want him and he was appointed above the gardener’s head, hence the mutual parting of the ways.

I don't think it was a mutual parting of the ways with Ashworth at all btw. The day he left he'd been to see their youth team play and the first team, and was apparently walked off the premises at Carrington. Bloke was sacked.

When you’ve just lost your sixth game in a month I think it’s fair enough to have your tactics questioned.

No one is saying he needs to continue with Ten Hag’s tactics but to come in and try to implement a radically different system mid season with a squad patently not suited to it is madness. He was saying last night that he now has a week to work with the players as if that’s going to solve the issues.

To make such drastic changes he’s going to need a full pre-season but it looks like he only knows one way to play and outside of that is very tactically limited.

You would struggle to spend as much money as Man U have in the last 5 years and end up with a squad this poor on purpose, let alone by accident. This isn't a problem that can be fixed by installing a new manager. It's going to take 3 or 4 years worth of transfer windows to move out the dross and bring in quality.

Even if they find buyers they’ll probably struggle to cover the PSR hits given some of the fees they’ve paid for dross.

Plus the fact that they have paid in instalments for all of them so even if they do escape PSR sanctions (because they'll be given special treatment anyway) they will have absolutely fuck all in the bank to play with.

No one is ponying up the kind of money they'll demand for Rashford up front, and at some point teams are going to want a bigger deposit from them when selling players because they are becoming a bigger and bigger insolvency risk.

I've seen a load of comparisons to Ashley when it comes to Ratcliffe but in all honesty, they should be fucking praying for a tight cunt like Ashley to come in and balance their books at this point .

The more I look at it the more impressive it becomes that Ten Hag managed to win two domestic trophies with them tbh.

Maybe he wasn't as hilariously bad as he appeared - be interesting to see what he does wherever he ends up next.

First thing Ratcliffe should do (and he won't) is sack Brailsfraud.  What the fuck has that cunt got in football?  They're all doped anyways so that 'marginal gains' tripe that he used on the trackies and roadies wont fucking wash.  Fuck off you bald weasel faced cunt.

Typical. I couldn’t watch it. No MOTD. I was banking on it being shown on German TV again but they are cunts too and are instead showing Chelsea losing.

Think they're definitely at the stage where they need to stick to a project even if it means a couple of more mid-table finishes. They scrapped the Rangnick one before it even started, Ashworth after a few months. They're lucky enough that they'll always have money and ridiculous commercial revenue so bite the bullet for a bit instead of chasing it.

They don't have the patience for it though. It was the same pre-Ferguson, and we all know how close he was rumoured to be getting the sack before it clicked. I know a lot don't like him but he was a football genius, the exception not the rule. Anyway, fuck them.
