Match day emotions or people seriously questioning Eddie already

I think the majority of us are still behind him.

However, he is not infallible so we are allowed to question where he is going with this team given we have been poor for most of the season and not just today’s match day. There are undoubtedly mitigating circumstances (such as the disastrous transfer window) but Howe is not blameless.

As I said though, the majority of us still back him as manager but he needs to find a way of beating the comparatively weaker teams.

Well one of them had literally never played for is and the other was a part time sub so I doubt that had a big effect.

Two of our brightest prospects nonetheless. For a club that wants to win trophies selling them and signing zero quality players in over a year is criminal.

I'm not saying we don't have tactical issues. Set pieces are a prime example. But it's like Howe is expected to churn out miracles year over year and that's just not how things work.

Half the people wanting him out want Mourinho as the replacement ffs.

I very much doubt that last statement is true.

Our day is fucked but it'll take the edge off things slightly if Man United lose to Forest.

Questioning him is not daft, wanting him out is.

We don't have the players to unlock defences sitting back. Teams have figured that out. We do well against the bigger teams because they afford us more spaces.

Yes but I don’t see anyone (sensible) wanting him out.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe speaking to BBC Sport: "Really frustrating, we are really disappointed with the manner of goals we conceded. It''s not even individual mistakes, there's two or three actions I'm not happy with for each goal. We have to do better in those situations.

"We had control of the game in the first half, then it got away from us after the third goal. We looked like a good attacking unit, but we have to put it all together and it has led to inconsistent results.

On their recent form, with no win in four games: "A strange sequence for us, we had three consecutive wins against really good opponents, then we have had mixed performances. We have to get it over the line."

Eddie has more than enough credits for me to survive the season even if it's bang average. Doesn't stop me being pissed off with every loss.

Can we suggest that Tonali’s halo has now slipped since he gave the ball away for that last goal? Bruno MIA again… 4 defensive mistakes, 4 goals. Fuckin rubbish .

Last two games he's started he's been our best midfielder.  He's broken up play and played deeper which has allowed Bruno to push forward.

He comes on today and him, Bruno and Longstaff looked confused as fuck as to who should be where.

While I share the apathy re Forest beating Man Utd, I’m delighted for Chris Wood

It would be nice to think the new manager is as useless as the past 6 or whatever have been. Something fundamentally wrong with the club even decade ago Pep couldn't fix. But aye, happy for Wood.

Spurs in stripes :cuppa:

We just need EH to introduce "mate" to his vernacular and the transition will be complete.

Keep saying it, it's obvious too many of our players think playing the dross of the league is below them.

You also have to wonder how Bruno can do a couple of long haul flights for international breaks, play two 90 minute games and then constantly starts and play 90 minutes and yet Tonali plays a couple of matches for Italy in Europe and he's on the bench every second game.

BTW Wilson has been done for at least a season and a half now and yet we're happy to wheel him out instead of a kid who has pace and isn't made of glass.

It's all rather predictably disappointing.

The problem with Bruno is that he’s been in and out for 18 months.

If you stopped and thought about it you’d struggle to come up with more than 5 games where he was running the show. Tonali has 2/3 games in his last five appearances.

I think giving Bruno the armband will prove to be a mistake. It should have been handed to Burn and then Howe may have felt less obligated to play Bruno every game when he isn’t doing the business.

Giving him the captaincy now feels very much like a compromise to stop him pushing for an exit in the summer for me.. only for him to fuck off next summer anyway.
