Why ? Was he against it or for it ?

He was bitten by a radioactive spider whilst working at a nuclear plant, and developed the ability to shoot strings of radioactive jism at will.
Useless for crime fighting purposes, buggered for having kids, but he gets to wear a Lycra bodysuit with a crotch flap.

It the current playbook for the right wing cunts here as their anti renewables push. Currently there is not one example working in the world.

And the costs associated with power generation, if one actually did work, is 2 to 3 times the costs to generate the same power from a renewable source.

Pipe dream of the Trumps, Farages, potatohead Dutton and other climate change denier cunts.

The advantage of them is independence and reliability for the tech industry. Google and Amazon will drive this and they’ll start popping up everywhere iyam :cuppa:

Nuclear is a no brainer if you can protect the infrastructure from physical and IT attacks.

That's all great but as I said currently there isn't one in operation in the world. I'd love a flux capacitor for my De Lorean but as it stands they are the realm of fiction.

Quote

The OECD’s NEA recognises three SMRs as operational, with over 50 SMR technologies currently still under development as identified in their latest SMR Dashboard report. Any estimate about cost or time to construct, whether optimistic or pessimistic, should be considered with a high degree of uncertainty.

Sounds like a small scale domestic set up. If the tech giants start driving this it’ll completely change the sector with investment into research and the technology required set up costs will reduce quickly.

Chatting to @sammynb about this reminded me of this, when this individual appeared to be a true force for good in this world. It’s the first time I’d heard of him and I thought the application of this sort of tech was inspired at the time. Not so much nowadays 😑

You'd think and hope but that's not how the world works anymore. Seeing we are of similar vintage, I don't think either of us will ever see benefits from it, especially financially, in our lifetime.

The true game changers is in batteries being able to store renewable energy with more efficiency, requiring less resources and of course, without any of those funds going to the cunt called Elon.

Aye, he’s done the same thing with Taiwan by deliberately blocking their access to the Starlink system because China told him so.

Personally I'd prefer more installations like Torness. My favourite part of the drive down that coast for years is always looking at the handful of caravans tucked away behind that delipidated eyesore and thinking "who wouldn't want to retire there?"

Torness is a fake power station. All nuclear is, ask Wolfy. There are no power lines coming out of Torness. It's a hologram.

Rolls-Royce SMR Limited (Rolls-Royce SMR) and ČEZ Group (CEZ) have today announced that they will join forces to bring their global capabilities and know-how to the deployment of Rolls-Royce SMR’s small modular reactor (SMR) technology. This is enabled by an equity investment by CEZ into Rolls-Royce SMR and a strategic partnership to deploy up to 3GW of electricity in the Czech Republic using Rolls-Royce SMR power plants.

If those things are operational and constantly churning out 3GW of power before 2040, I'll let you eat your hat.

Elon thought he'd have Mars colonised by now and no number of press releases, actually makes it true.

I permanently output in excess of 3GW of sexual energy, but I don't know if there's any way of converting that into something that can be used to power the grid.
