I’ve kept my counsel so far on the Howe/Mitchell etc situation, but…

 

… when every single player in the side is evidently underperforming, you have to look beyond the players and wonder what’s going on to cause/fail to address this? 
 

I am 100% prepared to give Howe the benefit of the doubt here, it’s no great secret that there’s been shenanigans behind the scenes with power reshuffles and whatever, but there has to be a response on the pitch to our woeful form and if Edward can’t get that response then questions will rightfully be asked. 
 

That’s not to say it’s his fault tbh, we’ve been ridiculously hobbled by the crooked rules as far as improving the squad is concerned, but he’ll be the one to get blamed if it doesn’t improve sharpish. 
 

I wonder if we’re seeing what I’ve always suspected, that Stavely and Ghoudossi were the ones who had his back, and now that they’ve gone, he’s on his own against a “hostile” board?

The league is so tight and Chelsea showed last year that you can be off the pace until about February and somehow clinch Europe with good form so I’m not sure they’ll be that rash. Do think it may be in the post though

 Yes but much of the way we played depended on limited players performing well above their level. Declining players. And we haven't replaced them.

I still don't think our best players are consistent enough. There's the call that we must get European competition so that these players stay but I don't see them making significant contributions to ensure that we get the results to keep them here.

It’s not solely his fault but the more he avoids making tactical changes the more it appears like he’s unable to. It could be that we’re a RW and a quick centre half away from getting back to our best but I think Mitchell may well be networking for his choice of first team coach soon if things don’t turn around.

 

The only thing I think that would avoid that (assuming form doesn’t improve) is that there are literally no managers worth replacing him with at the minute. He may end up in the Ten Hag role of you’ll do because there’s no one else.

Bruno is the biggest concern for me. Previously even when he wasn't playing well he would at least get into people's faces, be tenacious and lift those around him.

Well it’s a bit more nuanced than that for the reasons given by Fist. But what I would say is that he almost always plays the same formation, even if that means square pegs in round holes due to injuries. And he rarely changes the formation even when he does make changes by bringing on subs. Given the amount of analysis teams do that makes us predictable opponents. 
That said, we aren’t blessed with a huge squad, which isn’t on Howe at all. So maybe he thinks there’s only one effective way of playing with players at his disposal
