Are people turning here?

Seems an odd time to do it. We're playing a bit better without look (or a decent number 9 type striker).

Lose on Wednesday though and it feels like it's slipping away for Howe. We've only got the domestic ups left.

I desperately want him to succeed, but we've only played well in flashes for at least the whole of 2024.

Palmer eats crayons.

He could walk from the garden to the street idly picking his nose balancing a hula hoop without dropping the hula hoop.

Sorry, like but we’ve been poor here. And largely poor away from home for a long time and it doesn’t look like changing sadly. I like Howe, think he’s done a fantastic job but there’s some things that he just isn’t course correcting at the minute. It’s on Mitchell to get him some players in January and we’ll see where we are

Hard watch that, should have had it on mute.  Fuck me,

You would have thought Chelsea beat us 5-0.  That should have been a draw and they could have finished iwth 10 men.

We really need some kind of momentum. Every player is looking totally off the pace at the moment, shaky, wayward passing.

The only thing Howe can get accused of is not being able to motivate players. But our current stupidity is baffling. Isak‘s lack of form did cost us dearly today.

Chelsea were clearly the far better team today but in the end their two goals came after a counter attack just after we didn’t get a free kick in a very promising position and losing the ball easily in midfield and lacklustre defending.

Those 5 points we dropped before would probably have worked wonders to get players going.

Yeah. I think the departure of Staveley was a big loss behind the scenes for Howe and some players.

Happy to give Howe the season but no manager lasts forever. Anyway, it's only football.

I feel as though we’ve plateaued recently. We always had an answer at one time but it seems like we’ve been sussed and have no way of changing things up to keep opponents on their toes.

I really don't know how we've become so poor. And we have been for much of 2024. The lack of investment a big factor of course but dear me the state of the players on the pitch. One's who've done so well past two years, Bruno Isak etc. And ones who were playing above their levels, the Longstaffs Murphy's and Willocks have not only reverted but seem to be unable to string 5 yard passes together.

Feel terrible for Howe honestly. He has to pull some magic out of the hat to fix this. I don't see any hope of trophies or European football this season and he may not be backed in January again.

He’s not getting to January unless he does something to address the issues with our chance conversion IMO. Another couple of weeks like this and he’ll be gone. As much as I hate to say it.

I don't think anyone else comes in and gets better results out of the players we have, but what is worrying to me is him sticking with a system for so long that we're rarely executing well for an extended period. Our players are two years older than when Howe got the best out of them, and for a number that two years has brought them to their decline (Almiron, Schär, Burn, Trippier, Wilson). Really missing Botman and Wilson, but in the scheme of things our current injury list is well under what we're used to.

Hopefully Man City winning their case against the FA opens up our PSR options and Howe gets a chance to replace the aging/mediocre players in the squad.

He was also at one time getting performances out of some of those players that he had no right to be getting out of them. You can only do that for so long, and PSR has stopped us from replacing them and kicking on.

If he does end up going, it's fair to say that he hasn't really been given the tools he would have expected following a takeover by the Saudis.

We aren’t getting hurt by a wrong system or tactical mistakes but just by poor confidence and team morale. We are still showing glimpses of the things the team is capable of but then fail to convert easy chances. Final decisions are poor as well as our passing. It is the opposite of two seasons ago when everything went right for us with even Miggy scoring wonder goals.

I think the next two games will be crucial for us and Eddie. I would hate to see him go just because our board are fickle and want a change for the sake of it.
