Hall fluffed a few too, along with Tonali as he tired later on. Joelinton's time is up - he's one of th clubs highest earners, but does fuck all? He can't control a ball, he does create, he doesn't score. You've got to think it's the way we play and where we currently are as a team that so many usually technically good players have struggled to far. Or is it the other way around? More confidence and calmness on the ball would lead to more chances and better forward play? Trippier a few games ago seemed to be the answer as he calmed everything down but since he's started he hasn't looked great at all. Tino when he came on added a lot of energy and pace and you think oh why aren't we starting him. Good luck to Eddie because you can tell it's hard to know what's ours best starting eleven right now. Joe has looked like himself physically and imposed himself on the opposition really well last two games. But his end product and composure is still lacking, also loses the ball a lot in important positions. Bruno has also been much better after an absolutely honking start to the season. I think it's important Eddie perseveres with these 3 on midfield, especially with Isak back and Gordon and Barnes on the wings. If Howe is trying to get us to play a certain style, Kelly is completely different to Hall. Kelly looks like Burn playing at left back (a centre back out of position in other words) and Trippier’s game is completely different to Tino. though you could argue it’s good to have a versatile squad to give you different options for different opponents Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
