This debate reminds me of Karius' MotM performance in the CL final. Apart from stopping goals, he was brilliant. Played some wonderful passes and looked hot as fuck while doing it.

The criticism Karius got after that game was fucking way over the top. So in that regard you’re absolutely correct.

Fucking appalling take otherwise.

As @NJS said, I too hate it when we make T-Rex the hero. Is there something actually mentally lacking with him? The way he points and waves the hands on his little arms about, all the time is fucking weird.

There absolutely has to be something wrong with him. He behaves like a 15 year old kid with ADHD.

I'm a tad confused. What's appalling about a sarcastic analogy between a goalkeeping error (or two) leading to a goal and a shocking miss (or three) by an attacker?

I find Pickford an odd one as he doesn't seem to be as bad when he plays for England.

I do wonder if it has something to do with the clubs he has played for and where he is from.

Sunderland with the biggest chip on his shoulder then Everton who seem to somehow be worse. Maybe that is a step too far.

When Henderson left Sunderland, he went to somewhere normal. Maybe that is why he doesn't come across the same way.

I guess a keeper wouldn't have the opportunity to produce the same level of performance as Gordon did yesterday.

I also don't think a keeper does always get the blame in a situation like that. It is normally the defence that get the criticism for forcing them to have an amazing game and be in the position to make the errors. I am thinking of how me and many others viewed Dubravka.

Comparing an inconsequential game in the PL to the CL final.

Suggesting Karius got plaudits for his performance that night - otherwise why else use it as an example? That performance arguably ruined Karius’ career because of the insane backlash he got.

Literally, the only thing that is similar is that the criticism the goalie got despite his concussion was just as OTT as the responses of some on here towards Gordon yesterday.

I guess I'd be best to make sure that my sarcastic comments designed to be ridiculous and over the top which are clearly meant to be a joke for the exact reason that they're beyond the pale work first and foremost as advanced analysis without undue abstraction or exaggeration in the future.

It was a joke. That performance by Karius was horrendous. THATS THE JOKE. Read the thread. Look at the context. Fuck me. What a moron.

That would be great, cheers.

Isn't it know that Karius was suffering badly from concusion in that CL final game and under current protocols would have been made leave the field?

We still need a striker.

Okay then it was a shit joke rather than an appalling take. Glad we cleared that up.

a few rousing choruses of,

you're really a pig,

you're really a pig,

jordan pickford,

you're really a pig

would have the easily wound up cunt frothing at the mouth.

Pickford’s grandfather still carries that name. Barrie Pigford told MailOnline in 2018: “I'm over the moon for him, I am. I never thought he would play for England. It is the best thing he did leaving Sunderland – going to Everton was a good thing for him. He's doing good, I'm pleased for him. He's six foot four, so he's a big lad, but he's quiet."

Say it ain't so, Barry Pigford.

As has been said, the striker situation is costing us points. It's as simple as that. Yesterday would've been the perfect game for Wilson who can handle himself, you could've brought Isak on to replace him if we were winning or subbed someone else off and played them both together if we were chasing a goal. We're stuck this season unless we get a striker in January or Wilson does a Lazarus. Flogging Isak every game as the main CF isn't helping his game or sharpness.
