Exactly that, that Gordon's touch was fucked and so he initiated the contact with Ederson. They are right but all strikers do it.

They also said big Joe's should have been a penalty because Walker didn't taouch the ball.

Let's be honest it has evened itself out either way.

Gillet should not be a PL ref, he was fucking useless at A-League level.

I think his touch was fine actually, wasn't too heavy but it was clear it was a race to get the touch knowing that if he got there first contact from Ederson (and a resulting penalty) was more or less inevitable. It happens all the time outside the box as well .

As for evening out I guess that'a fair enough, though for me it's two penalties. You don't not give one penalty because you gave one earlier that was somewhat minimal contact.

Burn is the first player to stop him scoring in the PL this season.

On a side note I kept wondering would who win in a bare knuckle fight between Big Joe and Haaland.

Was it Burn who raked his studs down the back of Haaland’s leg?

enjoyed saturdays game. it was much more enjoyable than the arsenal game.

thought 1-1 was the right scoreline.

thought it was a penalty but also that he dived. but ederson gave him the opportunity so no complaints

had thought gordon wasted down the middle until he scored. he has terrorized us down the left before now so expected that again. still think he should have played on the wing where the pace could expose walkers aging legs.

favourite moment of the game, without a doubt was edersons back heel. he's rubbish at penalties but his assists and calmness under pressure make him a massive fan favourite.

early days in the title race but we just might have our work cut out staying in the top four this season. as always anything will be a bonus. there will be new legs in midfield next summer.

not sure we missed rodri. we won the first 4 without him. pep needs to be pep regarding rodri.

Burns a big fu#ker so i liked the commentator line "Haaland has rag dolled Burn there", made me chuckle ( more than Burns studs in Haalands ankle. )

good game, good game.

i thought walker still looked fast as fuck. there was one point where willock tried to take him on in a foot race (willock usually wins those) and walker made him look like he was slow.

i think 1-1 was a fair result, but we were unlucky not to win. for all your possession i think we edged it on quality of chances created, should have had two penalties and we we were never camped in our own half until the final 10-15 minutes or so when we were hanging on a bit.

No fit strikers meant he was our best option up front. Osula doesn't count because until he gets his goal against AFC Wimbledon tonight, he exists only as a concept of an idea.

Honestly, I think missing Rodri for the season opens the door for Arsenal and/or Liverpool to finish above you. Of course, Man City being Man City, you could go off in January and buy the second best defensive midfielder in the world. You can make do against much of the league without Rodri, but to get the kind of juggernaut momentum yneeded for the title, you have to replace him.

i think we were unlucky to concede even the one penalty. it was debated in the media. most said penalty but plenty said he dived. they don't debate when its clear cut. but it's not mine or your opinions that count. its the refs and it was given so thats that.

Honestly, I think Rodri will cost us the title too. but Pep has a track record for being inventive. no-one saw rodri's potential but pep. even in his first year at city everyone was saying too slow and cumbersome. i suspect we'll change our tactics such that we don't need a number 6. Maybe pep will invent the false 6 (if it hasn't been already).

Like you say we could spend in january (we have loads of psr leeway thanks to all the sales), but it's not our style (short term solutions). and we don't often splurge in january.

Hope you're comparing me to dead bruce and not fat bruce

walker still has plenty of pace, but we see him beaten more often than we used to.

I thought the ref was a cunt me.

bottled giving the second penalty, the one minute of added time at the end of the 1st half was ludicrous, it took your players 5 minutes to walk back from celebrating the goal in the milburn/leazes corner.

7 minutes at end was too much, convinced he was giving the opportunity to win it. mind you, I am a bit partisan.

enjoyed it though.... good game.

they were both pens for me as on both occasions contact was made with the player and not the ball.

The way I always look at it is would I be fuming if the decision had gone against us and we’ve had much, much softer pens given against us than those two shouts. I think the main reason we didn’t get the Joelinton one was that he’s just given us a pen, which is nonsense. That should have nothing to do with it. But it wasn’t strong enough for VAR to overturn given their more hands-off approach  this season. Last season they would have sent the ref to the monitor

city bias but

there was no tackle, no foul, walker just muscled joelinton out

if that had been given then i think footballl would be done

not heard any pundit think that was a penalty. of course i've not been listening for that point of view.

on the gordon one, if you watch it in slow motion gordon starts diving before contact was made. i'd have been proud if it was a city player but less so an opponent.
