Dr Gloom 21911
i've had a nightmare. i smoked throughout my teens, 20s, and early 30s. finally kicked the habit after having kids and got to the point where i only have the occasional tab when v pissed - and even then i stopped enjoying the sensation of smoking so it never felt like nicotine had its claws in me. now, after all these years, i've only gone and got myself hooked to a vape. fuck me, they're addictive. they don't appear to be regulated so the nicotine levels in them are off the scale - way higher than in tabs, plus there's no end to the bloody things! the thing about smoking is you have a tab and it satisfies a craving for a bit - with these bastards 20-30 minutes can easily disappear and you're still chugging away on them. i went cold turkey while i was away on holiday with the kids to "prove i could stop", then got right back on it as soon as i could after i got home. i know i need to pack it in - they're no good for you and i don't want the kids seeing me using it, but it's reminded me how much i enjoy the buzz from nicotine during the day; so much nicer than caffeine, which i'm also addicted to, but my caffeine consumption has dropped massively as a result of this. anyone else hooked to this absolute junk? Renton 21556
So you quit for an entire holiday abroad and then started again? Sounds very much like it is psychological, habitual addiction rather than physical. So I would tackle it from that angle maybe? You've given up cigarettes before, you can do this. There needs to be much heavier regulation on vapes. Disposable ones should be banned outright and I would tax the fuck out the permanent ones, who knows what problems are being stored up. Nearly 25 years since I gave up tabs now I think, always thought it was the most pointless addiction ever given the benefit/risk ratio (smoking is truly the most damaging thing for your health, increases your risks of nearly every disease). Don't think I ever even enjoyed nicotine, smoking addiction became more a by product of cannabis use for me. Banning smoking virtually everywhere and especially in pubs was a huge help in me quitting, and they repulse me now.

Toonpack 9377
I smoked cigars (inhaled) for years, I have vaped for last 5/6 years. No intention of wrapping in, I enjoy it. Nicotine is harmless in itself, the rest is just water vapour. I use 16mg.

wykikitoon 20109
A lad I worked with wasn't a smoker. Well, someone you would class as a smoker. At Christmas when we were out for a few beers you would see him have the odd cigar. On other nights out he didn't bother. Now, he's a massive Vape heed! I was exactly the same as you. I smoked through teens to my mid 20s - probably 6-8 tabs a day, plus another 10 on nights out once a week. Quit them insanely easily with nicotine gum and was never arsed with vaping in it's early format when they were blowing up and killing/maiming people. My wife decided she wanted to try an elf bar (despite never smoking in her life) - she couldn't hack it but I wasn't prepared to waste a fiver so blasted through it within 12 hours. 6 months later I was going through a vape and a half a day. It completely fucked my lungs. I managed to kick it by: 1) A month on 4mg gum - A sleeve (12 - 15 chewers) a day. 2) A month on 2mg gum - same quantity. 3) A week on step one patches / chewing normal gum. 4) A week on step two patches 5) Two weeks on step three patches. Now I am addicted to normal chewing gum and chewing the fucking life out of a pen - and I still have the cravings! Two weeks on 2mg gum was all it took to actually kick the habit to tabs for reference.

On inhaling, it's a great hit.

Coming off cigars onto the vape exact opposite effect for me, re the lungs.
The Fish 10838
Used to smoke 'socially', then quit them entirely when my first was born. Tried vaping instead after a while and honestly, I vape more now than I ever smoked. I'm also at the point where I'm gonna quit. I've never been one for buying the disposable ones, so I'm just getting to the end of this filter and won't be buying any more. I'll toss the thing itself when this filter goes. Honestly think it's more of a psychological thing because I've gone for weeks at a time without it when on holiday or whatever. I just find my fingers get bored.
