Fuckin wait a minute ya cunts. We’ve played spurs and Man Utd at an optimal time. Let’s see what Arsenal do v a team missing two of their best attackers :cuppa:

Aye, I was talking to an Arsenal fan the other day and he was saying they'd had two players sent off for time wasting  Arteta clearly taking the 'if you can't beat'em, join'em' approach with this.

Shame then that he doesn't know how to do it properly... why are your players already on yellow cards, doing the timewasting? That feels like a fairly stupid approach.

I’m ice cold about this fixture. If we can grind out a draw or a defeat by the odd goal, it’s game on back at SJP

Liverpool fan I know said the result against Man Utd wasn't so bad because "no other team capitalised, unless we're saying Man City are still in it"

Boy oh boy, the speed I c&p-ed the league table. Brother, it would have made your head spin clean off.

I would absolutely love it if City somehow caught them. The reaction, fume, uproar, would be beautiful.

that would tip the murdering cunts over the edge. another oil club whose support has blood on their hands other than abu dhabi fc pipping them to a title which is rightfully theirs before a ball is kicked each season.

the meltdown on rawk would be fucking glorious to behold, probably more so than the prestige of winning the title.

Well I think we’re all of that opinion. No one has really addressed our weakened side though, or the near absolute fuckin necessity for Arteta to win a trophy very soon for the sake of his own job… for that reason alone I think there’s a chance they’ll play a strong side and try to put the tie to bed as best they can tomorrow night, not to mention their fixture list with two champions league games at the end of January. If they do try to go for it then I think they’re ripe for being hit on the counter and it’ll make for a very competitive and watchable game. But with a half fit Sven or the fairly average Kelly in our back line coupled with the signs of fatigue shown in the 57 minute second half on Saturday then for me it’s going to very be tricky to get a servicable outcome… a draw would be a fuckin great result…

Apparently Trossard was sent off against City for 'delaying the restart'. Think he said they had another one for that too but I'm not sure which.

If the owners at Arsenal are putting pressure on Arteta, I don't think they'll be mollified by a League Cup win.

Yeah. But a trophy + 2nd place makes him hard to sack at the end of the season. Ask Sir Jim Ratcliffe for details

I don't think there's any appetite to sack him. Pep is surely, SURELY, fucking off at the end of this season. That leaves a giant chasm to fill and Arteta is one of the managers better positioned to fill it. He's got form for this sort of thing.

Especially if it was down to a dodgy penalty awarded to Man City against, ohhhh lets say Everton.

I think a day out at Wembley with the possibility of a final v Liverpool or their local rivals would see enough credit in the bank for him if they were to win it…ability to win important one off games is of the utmost importance. So your dear mother suggests in her latest correspondence….

We are 3 points off being in 8th. Things can easily swing around and the law of averages say we can't keeping winning every week. We have Wolves, Bournemouth, Southampton and Fulham. A great opportunity to put the after burners on but there is no chance we'll win all of them. That would be 9 league games on the spin,

And, as we know, contracts in football are signed in blood, never to be broken.

As long as we keep within a goal of them, I'd fancy us to get past them at SJP.

I also think that Arteta's eyes will be on the Champions League, staying as close to Liverpool as possible in the league, and the more prestigious FA Cup.
