Last night's results have pretty much killed off Villa's chances.

I reckon Chelsea's chances will likely be done before we face them a fortnight on Saturday. I can't see Liverpool wanting to do anything but put on a show the week before.

It's us, Man City & Forest for the remaining CL places. Which order we finish in is up for debate.

Brighton feels like a big game. Our record at their place isn’t great. We should beat Ipswich and I fancy us against Chelsea at home but they will be up for it if we lose to Brighton as it’ll be their last chance to claw back some ground.

CL is great ‘n all that but I judging by the shite in the Europa league I think we’d be have a good chance of winning that if we slipped into it.

CL is massive because of the money and what it means for our prospects of signing/keeping talent.

Europa or ECL are big because they're winnable, just look at Spurs and Man U this season, 14th and 16th in the league and in the semi finals of the Europa league.

West Ham were a one man team that nearly got relegated in the season they won the ECL.

Only getting ECL at this point would be a ridiculous let down but it'd still be a laugh next season.

Agreed but the status and money of being involved in the CL outweighs the improved chance of winning the thing unfortunately.

Yep - this all the way. We get CL and Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City lose their main bargaining chip for trying to attract our players.

Forest will be thinking similarly as they'll be desperate not to lose Murillo, Milenkovic, Elanga, Hudson-Odoi or Gibbs-White.

My selfish hope is that we're well clear of it come the final day and it's a straight shootout between Forest and Chelsea for the final CL place.

Would be something to watch on the last day and a massive moneyspinner of a game.

And obviously I'd want Forest to win and hopefully bankrupt Chelsea.

I assumed that Watkins was villa's next get out of psr jail card. Is he not worth much in those terms?

Didn't they pay 60m for him?

80m or even 100m isn't PSR nirvana.

Nah, they paid £30m 5 seasons ago. So he’s probably pretty much pure PSR profit in the summer for them.

They really went hard in strengthening their attacking options for the champions league and did exceptionally well in it. My only real concern is that we qualify, but if they don't it will be advantageous to us and other teams competing for CL positions next season as they'll surely have to sell some quality players so as to not be absolutely taking the piss with PSR.

As a side subject, how good is Brentford's recent transfer record?

Sold Watkins for £33m and replaced him with Ivan Toney for £10m
Sold Toney for £40m and replaced him with Wissa who'd cost them £8.5m

Wissa (16) & Mbeuno (18) have 34 goals between them this season. Watkins has 15.

Their DoF of football is a Newcastle lad. If Big Mitch summer turns into a damp flop then Giles would be the next man I'd be getting in.

It's alright, we've got Andrews knee-jerk match thread from the board collapsing. What could possible go wrong...

Brighton's last 10 matches. They're 9 points off the top 7, and the soft motherfuckers have downed tools.
