Ayatollah Hermione 14219 Posted Monday at 18:38 Share Posted Monday at 18:38 Bournemouth at home is a big game IMO. It’ll be a hard one as they’re a very decent side but that feels like as big a six pointer as the Villa game did
Dougle 3446 Posted Monday at 18:48 Share Posted Monday at 18:48 People go an about games piling up for the top teams as if it is a genuinely bad thing. In my experience it seems that as long as a club avoids a ton of injuries it can work in their favour, keep momentum going so to speak Even look at us, 8 games between 4 December and 4 January, 6 wins 1 draw (against the runaway league leaders) and 1 defeat. And let’s face it those teams with the pile ups because of Europe and extended cup runs usually have deeper squads.
Gemmill 46929 Posted Monday at 18:54 Share Posted Monday at 18:54 Arsenal have got 9 games in January alone. A game every 3 days. And it'll be as bad in the months after that. There's no way that's helpful.

Gemmill 46929 Posted Monday at 19:12 Share Posted Monday at 19:12 Could there be something between those two extremes? Maybe the January we're having would be preferable...

Aye probably but all those top teams with the endless fixtures are usually there or thereabouts with trophies/euro qualification every year come the end of the season. Howmanheyman 34325 Posted Monday at 19:34 Author Share Posted Monday at 19:34 Just thought I'd put sky on for the Wolves v Forest game and obviously all weekend talking about Liverpool v Man United wasn't quite enough. Sky trying to talk about anyone else.....

At least we got mentioned a few times courtesy of being the comparison between the two Man Utd games Granted, it was all "Man Utd changed things and did this" rather than "Newcastle were just better than Liverpool at dealing with them", but hey ho. Take what we can get I suppose.
Rayvin 5504 Posted Monday at 19:46 Share Posted Monday at 19:46 One thing they said about Forest earlier mind, was that their approach is largely counter attacks - and just there seeing they've the lowest possession in the league. Could it be that their success is coming from teams underestimating them and attacking too aggressively? Kind of like our CL qualification season. If so, it's not sustainable long term IMO. They'll be found out.

Kid Dynamite 7294 Posted Monday at 20:09 Share Posted Monday at 20:09 Putting it out there. Anderson would be our 4th choice CM if he was still here. He's better than Willock and Longstaff for me

Second half as people got wiser to them they just ground out 1-0 wins like nobodies business.

It was a very good three points down there for us.

We'd have a 9 point deduction in the post, and have burned another season with no chance of CL if we'd kept him.

If he hadn't gone he'd still be the player we had, who couldn't get in the team. Its also half a seasons form in a team everyone expected to be at the opposite end of the table so lets not go mad just yet. He could just as easily be Danny Drinkwater mk2 as Ngolo Kante Jr.
Holden McGroin 6884 Posted Monday at 20:20 Share Posted Monday at 20:20 Forest are having one of those seasons where everything just seems to be going right. Including luck. I was reading their forum earlier and one poster was banging the drum about Ryan Yates getting called up for England. Wykiki must have a long lost twin brother.

This is the worry - Wolves can have all the pressure they want but they have to make it count because on any given attack they could get torn open again if it goes wrong. Really difficult once Forest are ahead tbh. Might rewatch the highlights of our game against them tbh, curious how we dealt with this.

This is the thing tbh once they're struggling they've got to attack and the whole thing falls apart. Maybe they'd have more success at our place, perversely.

Some of his touches under pressure and through balls are Bruno esque
