Just watching Brighton-Brentford bore fans to death and wondered why Minteh wasn't starting. Turns out he only started on of Brighton's last five PL games and is usually used as a sub around the 80th minute. Possibly wasn't the solution to our woes?

Promising youngster that may or may not make it at the top level at all, never mind at the level we want to be at. It'll be a shame if he ends up that good, but it's overwhelmingly likely that he won't.

He was out injured from mid October for a month, I don’t think he can get back in the side in front of Gruda… indicates a decent player but not a player that would provide consistent quality for where our owners eventually see us…

Do wanna say mind, Howe might well have turned him into a better player than whoever manages Brighton.

Possibly. But we wouldn't have seen it this season. Howe trusts Murphy and the kid is raw as fuck so would be unlikely to have seen much game time at all. £30m for a lad that was a totally unknown quantity in the PL was good business for us.

Aye not disputing any of that at all - or the wisdom of selling him. Was really just trying to say that I think looking at the squad and the wholesale development of it by Howe, it may well have been that he'd have been a damn sight better here than he would be elsewhere.

We got £30m based on potential alone too. If Brighton tried to flog him at the end of this season, I'm not sure they could get £30m for him.

This but unfortunately Everton won't be relegated.

But isn't he the messiah, shirley that would mean he walks (on water) back into the starting 11?

In all seriousness, being used constantly as an 80th minute subs, means the manager sees him as nothing more than fresh legs, not a game changer.

After what Hurzeler did at St Pauli, I rate him as a manager who gets the best out of his players.

I think he started well for them and got a concussion early on followed by another injury.

I remember seeing comments from their fans saying he was woeful in his last start for them.

Month is coming back from injury, Brighton fans loving him on the forums. Not sure why wypoopie wants him to fail so badly.

Really? Again? He's not our winger. Move on, please.

Because he's not our player, not sure what you just don't seem to fathom about this?

You allegedly support NUFC, no? And all he can possibly do now, is hurt the club by affecting results against us or against clubs we are competing with, as RR says, again you don't seem to get it or maybe you are nothing more than a WUM called Ahmed.

I hope he has a good career, preferably overseas so it doesn't come back to bite, but selling him for what we got is possibly the most value he could ever give us.

You're more forgiving than I RR, I don't want to see him succumb to injury but as for his career, who cares? Unless he ends up a Toon player once more, he can be relegated at every club he plays for from now to the end of his time.

You bang in about a player who's done nothing for the club whilst simultaneously slagging off our best player last season who is now in a rich vein of form? Geeeee let's wonder why people think you're a fucking WUM.

100%. It’s what he does. We’ll never know now but it’s clear from his comments in the interview he did with Simon Jordan that Howe didn’t want to lose Minteh or Anderson. PSR forced us

I would have liked to see what he could have done for us. It was a pity we had to sell him, however, we had to and we made profit out of him being on our books for a year.

It is hard to wish him well or wish him ill as he was never really a NUFC player. I was slightly excited to see what he would do for us but in reality not that excited. It is not like when someone like Carroll left or ASM.

These things happen in football. Didn't Chelsea sell Salah and De Bruyne? I don't think he will hit either hight.

Being a newcastle fan doesnt mean wishing failure upon others who have done nothing negative against us. Clearly im just a better person than wypoopie and you.

@Howmanheyman Ciaoman, Bein (so will be somewhere for you to watch) is currently showing Lazio v Atalanta if you need a calcio fix.

👍 Didn't see this till later on and was about to go to bed. Haven't seen as much Italian football funny enough, TNT don't seem to be showing as much, think it's only one game on a Sunday night and Saturday I think so out of sight, out mind.

Nope and of course it does if it is to the detriment of NUFC.

And please explain how revelling in the failure of one of your (supposed) team's best players makes you a better person?
Your logic is flawed, Ahmed,

Does TNT not know of the damage they are doing?

FYI Atalanta equalised in the closing minutes, interesting game and lots of bad Italian footballer hair styles - it's the league that just keeps giving in that regard.

I think the most I've been into Italian football, other than maybe the 90s and channel 4 gazetta etc is the darkest days of Ashley where it was depressing watching anything that reminded me of how shit the PL was, competition wise, and how shit a position Ashley had us in, strangling us but not completely finishing us off. Italian football took my mind off it a bit and was easy to access for me at the time. It's a strange league these days and it drives me mental seeing teams wearing whatever strip they fancy on a week by week basis even at home they'll sometimes just wear an away shirt, it's a bit mental.
