Liverpool was fucking desperately grim late 80s like, was shat on more than any other city. 

A lot of it is now gentrified and like us they've lost their club to the middle classes and tourists, mainly from Scandinavia. Take a step back and the parallels with us are really obvious. 

As for Heysel, I'd rather not go there but it saddens me so many will take the sides of the authorities who completely ballsed up that match over the football fans. Could have happened to any club given the 80s hooly culture and indeed I remember on the night Juve fans were also a disgrace.

Sir John Moores who founded the football pools dynasty was chairman and of Everton from the early 60s. His nephew David was chairman of Liverpool from the early 90s. What you’re repeating are accusations mostly from bitter red Mancs, who literally were bankrolled by the Edwards family who exploited the Munich air disaster for every available penny :cuppa:

It’s not that I disagree with much of this but as I’ve got older I just cannot be arsed expending the energy required to hate any set of fans as much as I used to. As Rents said the almost complete absence of effective policing and the state of the stadium were as much to blame as were the Juve mob. A tragedy and a handful of Liverpool fans were prosecuted and jailed.

The Moores had their stake in Liverpool for over 50 years, long before one of them became chairman.

 

I didn’t have access to the views of bitter red mancs in the early 70’s mate, but I recall talking about it at the time when the scousers were signing players.

 

As for the Mancs, certainly they are the other arse cheek, but I’ve seen those cunts relegated in my time, it’s marginal but I hate them a fag paper less.

weird to think that when the nufc and liverpool lined up for the '74 cup final, newcastke were the historically mire successful club.

the moores family and their money were hugely responsible for the advancement of lfc, any claim by the bindipping cunts that they're some kind of of socialist, sustainable, mounted on a plinth to be admired football club is hilarious.

Mackems claim there is a media love in for us, SJP as the cathedral on the hill certainly has some resonance. The entertainers etc. Loads of media stereotypes surrounding us, mainly positive. Truth is, if we had anything like Liverpools success we would be media darlings even more. As it is, we're more akin to Spurs. It's just the way it is.
