edit - just seen the last bit of his post. Mea culpa, he would still pay British taxes in NI obviously. That's me being stupid and I shouldn't have made the original post without engaging my brain.

Genuinely don't have an issue with him not wearing a poppy, but always found it slightly contradictory that he's staunchly republican but chooses to live in England/Wales.

On a side note, it's bizarre that such a big part of politics in this country (the troubles) was completely absent from my school curriculum. Literally wasn't even mentioned. I hold my hands up to being naive about a lot of it. I was brought up atheist and feeling far more "North Eastern" than "English"

I learned about it in history, like. We had to do it for part of our GCSEs. Though it was the full history of Ireland but it covered the British army occupation of Ireland and Bloody Sunday too.

They made us watch the film with James Nesbitt as part of it, which was fucking brutal.

Scotland beat 10 man Croatia 1-0 in the most exciting game I’ve see them play since 1984. If we win in  Warsaw on Monday we finish second in our nations league group and therefore would go into Pot no. 1 in the World Cup group qualifiers draw next year 🤓 :spinwank::happygirl:

They'll find a way to fuck it up. 🙂
