We've done well with injuries so far this season and a lot of that has to bed more than luck, credit has to go to Bunce. We're nearly at the end of the most intense period of the season and have come out of it largely unscathed. After this week it's pretty much one game a week, bar a few occasions, so the workload on the players decreases substantially.

Recruitment won't be a case of us ringing round to see who's available. We'll have our pre-determined targets and if any of them are there for the taking at the right price then I'm sure we'll act but this isn't a month to push things if you don't have to. As we saw from last year, it looks the week before 1st July is the Black Friday for footballers, might be best to keep our powder dry until then.

Think a loan + commitment to buy for a right winger might be what transpires. As to who that is fuck knows. Maybe Bakayoko at PSV 🤷🏻‍♂️

They might be waiting to see when Saka comes back for arsenal and take him?

I was talking about this to me brother yesterday....

regardless of the likelihood of it I'd start wheeling out malcolm macdonald, michael chopra, keith gillespie, any fucker really to spend their time filling the pages of shite tabloids on how saka would be the final piece in the jigsaw for out title push. what's good for the goose....

the beeb ran a "news" story yesterday: which striker should arsenal buy?

Isak, unsurprisingly, was on the list. 🙄

where's our "which RW should newcastle sign?" news piece?

goes without saying that saka and salah should be on the list.

Journalists need to write something and it’s the go to story for the lazy bastards this month. They and we all know it’s not happening this month but if we don’t get top 4 it could well happen in the summer. Theres fuck all else to say, but that won’t stop journos stating the bleeding obvious. I blame Dr Gloom tbh, he’s one of them

Apparently  we have no money to spend. (Even though we spend 2 1/2 months chasing guehi in the summer for 70mil)

With the new Tech. Dir. comes a new policy. It’s his train set now. All complaints are now to be addressed to Paul Mitchell…

I honestly believe the whole guehi thing was a fucking pantomime.

'couldn't quite get it over the line' 'we tried' ring any bells?

Well, there’s more than one way to skin a rabbit. Folk need to understand that A + B doesn’t necessarily = C. Things change. Perhaps some posters need to touch base with me more often and I’ll get their footballing ducks in a row for them :)

The Guehi thing was a blown up version of what seemed to happen with Botman.

wasn't there supposedly competition for botman's signature from one of the milan clubs?

I don't recall any for guehi, just an opportunity for parish to get his smarmy face on the tele and us to play some bizarre football version of the bidding room where bids went up in 50p increments every couple of minutes.

Im rooting for Paul but it would be terrible if that's 2 transfer windows with no signings... at least get a loan in. .

If PSR is going to nerf transfer windows so badly for the majority of clubs then there is an argument that transfer directors or whatever are a level of middle management that could be culled from football.

Worth mentioning that it's consistently been reported that even if the Guehi transfer had gone through it would have meant fuck all happening this month and some outgoings. It seems like there is wiggle room but it's really fine around the margins and they'd rather take a gamble on potential PSR fire sales.
