There was one in Hexham too, but it was basically fight club for the local goons.

Don't diss Dontinos - although I now understand why the floor was so sticky if you were dribbling there. 🙂

A few of us stayed in Langholm (I think that’s how you spell it) near to the hotel was a nightclub..well if that’s what you can call it …The Elephant Shed or some fuckin thing if I remember rightly …the village/town was dead all day, and then around 11pm it was like the Thriller video, people appearing out of drains and shit and heading to this ‘club’ so we thought aye let’s have a look, after being there for 15 minutes or so, a local gimp came out with what is up there with a great chat up line to a lass who was in our group, asked if she was staying in a hotel and if he had any chance of a shag (true) only been chatting on for about 10 mins, she replied unlikely mate as it’s the wrong time of the month….he replied with sincerity, “That’s ok I’ll stick it up your arse” …strange place indeed, one of us upset the locals and we got told to leave, for saying to a right stunner on the dance floor ..you divvent sweat much for a fat lass. Happy days

“The £40,000 club opened with a billing as a luxury nightspot in 1972, fulfilling a lifetime dream for owner Donald D'Adamo - better known through his Hexham hairdressing business as Donalde.”
