Just play Rice in front of the defence and let Foden and Bellingham work between them when to hang back and push up. They are both intelligent players and operate better centrally.

that way you can accommodate Gordon wide left to stretch their defence and create opportunities.

He may as well go for broke, as no one is expecting England to attack games. He won’t do this though.

i agree, but he likes two central midfielders to sit deep.

Dunk, Guehi and Konsa being 3/4 of our CBs is worrying. Surely Smalling or Tomori were worth a spot?

Grealish supposedly had the season of his life last year. He ended up with five league goals and eleven assists in a side that won the quadruple. Hardly world class figures.

And as for him being a game winner? He has two goals to his name for England, against Andorra and Iran.

Not that he’s the same type of player. But the situation reminds me of Rooney at Man Utd a bit. Where the role in the team at his club had diminished a lot of what made him an exciting player in the first place

Pep has taken all the fun out of Grealish. He will have a bunch of medals to his name when he retires but he was better being a big fish in a small pond playing the maverick role.

He’s a run of the mill inside forward and not even a particularly great one. £100m for mid table stats, a shit haircut and awful accent

Wouldn’t be surprised if that’s Southgate out of a job before the Euros.

About 100 goals between all this attacking talent on not a shot on target to speak of. I think the group games will be generally more open but if you score early and defend well, we struggle to break you down. Which is pretty ridiculous. Especially looking at how many easy crosses and chances have been overhit under no pressure

A lovely chorus of boos to see England off to the Euros.

That's from those that could be arsed staying to watch it.

It could have been worse for those who left, they could’ve been watching the debate on BBC.

Why do you guys keep saying Foden is a CAM when guardiola rarely plays him there? He played centrally 6 out of 35 league games this past season. Most of his games are on the LW and then RW
